What is TWRP Recovery?
Team Win Recovery Project 2.x, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

1. Unlock your Bootloader..Click here
2. Download SuperSU Updater zip from here and copy it into INTERNAL SDCARD
2. Power Off..Boot into Bootloader mode(Hold power+Vol down and release)
3. Connect to your PC
4. Flash Recovery through fastboot mode/bootloader mode
and Go into your adb+fastboot folder and Type in CMD prompt
Command :
Code:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP2801-titan-motog-2014.img
5. Flash SuperSU zip from Recovery
6. Reboot.Done

Download: : TWRP 2.8.0.1 Custom Recovery for Moto G 2014
ADB+Fastboot

Bugs:

1.Only internal Sdcard is detected for now..No External SDCard support ..Will update the recovery once i have time Fixed
2.Backups to Internal Storage not possible but External Storage(SD Card) works Fixed

Works perfect on XT1069

I just downloaded and tested on my XT1069.
Moto G (2nd Gen) Dual SIM DTV Brazil

And it works perfectly! :good:
So far, so good... :highfive:
Root and Recovery seems to be working like a charm.

The SD Card is not accessible during Recovery mode only.
For normal boot, running KitKat, external SD access works fine!

-

O acesso ao SD externo só não funciona no modo Recovery.
Ao iniciar o KitKat normalmente, o SD externo funciona belezinha!

Thanks for the fast reply! I'll go root as son I get my device.
---
Obrigado! Assim que comprar o aparelho vou realizar o root!

On the phone have purple message: "Mismatched partition size (recovery)", on CMD it says all OK - so did it go through or not?

How to enter twrp now?

Its ok
For entering Twrp ..select Recovery in the bootloader option(Vol Up to select Vol down to navigate)

So vol down+power i enter bootloader ,select recovery and i have completely black screen and i need to reboot. bootloader unlocked properly. dual sim version moto g2 - cant find model number in settings/phone/hardware info and i do not have box with me to check it.

i changed(shorten) .img name but that shouldnt be the case that smg went wrong since all cmd/adb/bootloader output was ok.

Any advice please?

changing name should have nothing to do with this,i guess its something else, maybe you missed a step or something

Did you try rebooting into Recovery mode?
You can try this ADB command:

adb reboot recovery

Worked and rooted. Use software to boot to recovery BUT

upon trying first twrp backup:

"unable to create folder /data/media/0/twrp(errno=13)
E:failed to make backup folder"

So saga continues...

Any suggestions from this step on please?

I guess we need to wait for external SD card support --> http://xdaforums.com/moto-e/help/unable-to-backup-stock-rom-errno-13-t2836509

ROOT on my Moto G XT1068. thanx @suhas.holla for the recovery.

but... :(
it seems i smashed my original recovery with the many try of rooting the moto,
it don' boot up in the bootloader, before I even flash your recovery. :crying:

so lil trick i did...

first i flashed the original recovery, find it here: CWM Thread

and then i flashed the twrp by suhas.holla.

but i used the mototool for flashing both recoveries...
worked like charm, also you can fix the warning while your bootloader is unlocked...

lil how-to
download original+twrp recovery, also download mototool -->> PLEASE read the instructions FIRST.
download the supersu.zip and put it in your root sd, not the microsd.

unzip the mototool folder in c:/

put both recoveries in the mototoolaiov3/data/recovery folder.

start the mototool exe, "select recovery", choose the stock recovery first, then push "flash recovery".
if it worked, fine, next step. if not, please comment here...

2nd step, choose the twrp recovery and push the "flash recovery" button.

now go the "tool" section, choose "fix boot logo" and push "do it".

1st attention:

the mototool won't boot into your recovery if you push the action button, i don't know why and it don't care cause from here we're using our moto screen,

2nd attention:

with vol-down you choose or "scroll" through the 5 points (normal bootup - recovery - factory - barcodes - bp tools) and with vol-up you started your action,
so scroll to "recovery" and "start" with vol-up.

with vol-down you can only "scroll" through normal bootup - recovery - factory - barcodes - bp tools and with vol-up you confirm the action. KEEP THAT IN MIND.

when you're in the recovery, all you have to do is "install the selected supersu.zip" reboot... and you're rooted. congrats to yourself.

great idea by me... :D :cool::D :good::good::good:

so first step for me after rooting, set the dpi in the build.prop to 240 and install xposed... the modding can begin.:good:

Did you manage to do backup in twrp?

Wont risk xposed modding before doing that.
