Overall it's a good product but it really has some major flaws:
- There's no way NOT to include SIM numbers among the contacts. This is very very stupid, I can't believe that no programmer or beta tester was annoyed by this. I keep my contacts in the SIM as backup when I need to use my SIM in another phone, I hate having those duplicates in SPB's list.
- Poor choice of widgets, so little to choose from... SPB is not even trying. They didn't at least integrate their own products. I want to have widgets for Insight feeds, Wireless Monitor, G-alarm, tasks, etc.
- I can't add a Today item as an widget. Yrgo 3.0 can do this. If they added support for this, the above problem would be solved partially.
- I cannot change what the Contacts button does. I use Resco Contacts and it's far superior to SPB's contact list. I have to create a shortcut on the Lifestyle layout or in the Launcher to use it.
- When I press the volume/profile button, there should be a slider to control the volume in the normal setting. I know there's a button, but that's one more tap.
- Tasks are not displayed, only appointments.
Other not-so-important bad stuff:
- For some reason it doesn't display contact pictures in the call list.
- Didn't find a way to customize the SPB menu in the Launcher, so that feature is useless.
- Carousel contacts and screens is nice to look at, but useless.
- It takes too long to switch between portrait/landscape.

i dont really like this version. maybe i'm wrong... but i think the 2.1 version is much user friendly.
plus camera doesn't work when I choose it from the menu!
It only works when I press the hard button.
+ I can not edit calendar entries from its own calendar and I have to switch to the original calendar for editing entries...

i just downloaded, i like it.
maybe a couple mistakes, but nothing big in my eyes.

Mine doesnt drain memory, mine works flawless, fast and quick and so nice looking.. Its smooth as fu*k tbh...un-intuitive interface, huge memory drain (and then battery, I think), same fuc*ing uncustomizable format (oh yeah, sounds good to unzip crappy possword protected file and cut/paste bmps...) , POORLY SLOW landscape switching (ok... only a beta...) and still no api for external program handling
imho this suck as 2.0 does, i had my best proposal but i'm very disappointed

its only slow when u on the change to landscape. its a prpblem with the software and not the phone as everyone on the spb forum has the problem

Task manager program
The only problem I find is that it doesn't leave enough available memory for me to run TomTom. Is there a good task manager program that would allow me to end the Mobile Shell process?
Left to right swipe only works on the Lifestyle home screen, but I had to soft reset after the install before it would work for me.

how can u not have enough ram to run tomtom. i can run the shell, tomtom and still have over 100mb of spare ram.???
download the fdcsoft task manager v3.1 thats what i use, u can close or kill anything thats running but be careful not to close something that is making your phone run

Everytime i recieve a text, it shows on the top of the windows task bar as normal but not on the SPB Shell itself, the missed calls icon works fine on it though

Which version are you using? i suggest you use the offical release. it fixes almost bugs

In the right botton in the down side off the menu and add the widget SMS and MMS

I've just downloaded the new version from SPB website. I got it working but then after resetting my device about 5min ago the sms message isn't working again, grrrrrr

I'm having the same issues with sms for some wild reason it works after a fresh installed and after a few uses every time I try to open sms it just hang in there and freeze my phone a soft reset wont fix the problem.
i too have a problem - on official trial version but in my case the new sms will show on the message icon but after reading the sms it will still cont to show unread messages. i tried to go back to today screen, different panel etc but when i return back to mobile shell it's still there. very irritating
You can close SPBMS exactly by: Launcher > Settings > SPB Mobile Shell > tap right bottom icon > Exit Shell.
The free memory will increase about 5-6% after tat.
