Sorry for the noobish questions, but it has been quite a long time since I upgraded my Samsung firmware with Odin (Galaxy S III, anybody?), and ... the world has changed a smidge.

I am using my phone in the US on the AT&T network. I have unlocked my bootloader, so I don't get OTA updates anymore. Before I accidentally brick my brand-new phone, I have a few very basic questions:

  • My SM-S908E-D/S has region codes of "CHO" (Chile) all over the place. I assume that I can only install the CHO region firmware update package, correct?
  • My understanding is that I will power off the phone, power up into Download Mode, then connect the USB to my PC/Odin. From there, I will be installing the BL, AP, CP, and HOME_CSC partitions, correct?
  • Is there anything I will need to do for my phone to be reconfigured for the AT&T network after the update? I seem to remember seeing something a configuration for AT&T pop up when I first powered up the phone.
THanks!

No, you can install any region code, although you may have baseband issues.

Yes. To enter download mode, some devices require that you start with the device off, hold both Volume buttons, and connect the USB cable.

As long as you have a valid SIM, network provisioning should be automatic.
