the zip 3.102 you download from jide is dated and this is gone be the name for your remix directory. just change from windows or lixux the name of your existing remix folder to this new date then install the iso

System looks fine, could be slow storage: Are you using a USB stick? C2D is probably USB 2 and slow storage kills Android processes.
You'd see that in the logs, but unfortunately the console is no longer activated by default.
You could try installing to another disk/ssd adding an INSTALL=1 to the grub boot line (best to remove your 'other' OS disk first).

I have the same problem :crying:
I can understand how that would be the first thing you do after the install, but evidently it needs Internet access to work.

yes you can, just change your L directory name to android-2016-08-03 then upon install M it will write to this one just updating your system, thats how i did
I'll try that on the next update!

Remix is reporting all kinds of storage issues on an SSD install, because it "sees" the other directories and offers to 'fix' them (didn't dare to try what would happen then).

Since I had opted for ext4 at the original install I attached the SSD onto an Ubuntu to see if it could detect anything undue (nothing wrong) and saw that anything outside boot stuff seemd to be put into these release-named folders.

Didn't think to rename them to enable an update and am now (virtually) banging my head: Good thinking!:good:

intel_powerclamp: Intel powerclamp does run on family 15 mode
intel_rapl: driver does not support CPU family 15 model 2

Installed CPU: Mobile Intel Pentium 4 2.80GHz

Might be the S3 instruction set, but I got no response from Jide when I fed back to them previously with this error in version v2.0.402. Only versions v2.0.402 and v3.0.101 rather than just refusing to boot.

The only success I have had booting an Android Gui was with: Android-x86 Live & Installation CD 2012-01-04 in vesa mode with boot option:

label vesa
menu label Live CD - ^VESA mode
kernel /kernel
append initrd=/initrd.img root=/dev/ram0 androidboot_hardware=generic_x86 acpi_sleep=s3_bios,s3_mode video=-16 quiet vga=788 SRC= DATA=

Dell Inspiron 5150
CPU: Mobile Intel Pentium 4 2.80GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 (64M) / Ati Mobility Radeon 9000 (64M)
RAM: 2GB DDR
HDD: Toshiba MK4025GAS (40GB)
Audio: SIGMATEL STAC 9750 AC97
Network: Atheros AR5005G Wireless / Broadcom 440x 10/100
I've also tried using a nice old Banias notebook with an ATI GPU, also 2GB RAM which still works fine with Fedora 24: The hardware seems a good fit, considering my Android experience with Tegra 2 etc. and how well this thing still runs with Fedora.

The problem is that Google/Intel fixed a hardware base line for the ARM binary translator, which doesn't go back quite that far.
You need to check against Android's x86 base requirements for 32 bit.

I had a nasty suprise with my 3.6 GHz AMD Phenom II x6 (2009?) (16GB of ECC RAM) which failed the 64-bit baseline, lacking SSE 4.* support.
With an AMD R9 290X GPU it's a machine vastly more powerful than any commercial Android device today.

But of course it lacked SSE 4.* support because at the time of its creation Intel refused to uphold their contractual obligations to AMD.
Intel then got their revenge for losing that court case, by ensuring that the Android 64-Bit baseline excluded all these AMD 64-Bit pioneers.

But this is 32-bit territory, where requirements are somewhat lower and AES 4.* isn't required.

Even there I believe the line is being drawn somewhere between Banias and Dothan and PAE support is demanded even if your RAM falls well within 4GB.

I believe what you see is that the kernel boots alright, but the Android user-land fails to start because of missing instructions and/or PAE support.

You should see some hints in the logs with dmesg and logcat.

Hi,

In Linux with remix 2.0.102 last version I had the same problem. I had installed version 2, but I couldn't manage to install last version 3, with Google play running. Steps I followed are:

1- clean installation, without updating from v2 to v3 (each time I copied 'data' folder to the new folder, remix v3 couldn't be runned)

2- in '/etc/grub.d/40_custum' add this lines:

menuentry ‘Remix OS v3’ –class android-x86 {
insmod part_gpt
search –file –no-floppy –set=root /remix-new/system.sfs
linux /remix-new/kernel root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_64 androidboot.selinux=permissive quiet SERIAL=random logo.showlogo=1 REMOUNT_RW=1
initrd /remix-new/initrd.img
}

4- once remix v3 is started, I could execute 'remix activator' to activate 'Google play store'

5- while executing for the first time 'Google play' an error occurred while installing or updating any app. Solution I found was deleting already added Google account in 'settings - account - Google' and adding it again.

Regards

Move the computer to within 3-9 feet (1-3 meters) of the wireless router.
Make sure the wireless switch is on. It will be either a sliding switch on the left or right side edge of the computer, a key combination or single key. Toggling this switch will turn all the wireless connections (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Mobile Broadband) on and off, at the same time. Look for a wireless icon.
From the Start page, click Desktop.
Right-click the network icon Wireless Connected Windows 8 or Wired Connected Windows 8 in the notification area of your taskbar, and then click Troubleshoot problems and follow the instructions.
Turn off and then turn on all the devices on the network to synchronize them.
Make sure the latest driver is installed
Make sure the correct network name (SSID) and passphrase or network key (if any) were used to create a profile.
Configure the wireless adapter settings for optimal performance.
Check complete steps in Dell Latitude E6410 Manual.

can I copy and paste text between the host OS (windows 7, 64 bit) and Remix OS android apps?

in other words, is there any clipboard manipulation in emulated android that works between OS (apps outside Remix OS can copy text and paste it within any Remix OS app?

I don't think so. As far as I recall, you can only run one OS or the other at a time and copying the text wouldn't survive the shutdown/reboot to the other OS. And the time it would take would make it really cumbersome I would think.Maybe knowing more about what you're trying to accomplish would help in finding a way to make something that would work.

HI 4EverMaAT
If you are in windows xp or 7
1.install
Mobalive cd and run session Remix pc.iso into usb disc 16-32 gb
Use dual notepad 1 in windows and 2 in remix copy the text from remix
And save in dual space e or f that is working on win7 xp and remixos
2.install
Oracle virtualbox or ms virtual java machine and run install session parallel 2gb ram of remixos as virtual hdc
Copy text and save as text into notepad and dual cache disk e or f that work on win and remixos... and open text into win7 switching by esc ctrl or alt enter or alt ctrl depend on switching task multiparalels system. For example in xtreegold it was alt tab for switch windows cpu processers... different controllers files and activities.
Another solution is to install automated server notepad into win xp or 7 and remixos. But remix os need to by wired networking with dual control of cpu processer and svga and key tasking and network as msinframe2 pc2 remix2 into internal memory and expanded hdd2 or virtual partition fat32 or ext3 journalised linux
