Considering the new Pixel phones won't be out until September (allegedly), you can't know what they'll reallly be like.
The same goes with the Essential PH-1.

From your initial list, I'd pick the U11 just because the Pixel is a bit outdated now (it's a year old) and the G6 uses last years processor.
But if you add other announced devices, the situation might change. However, the U11 might get discounted after the Pixel 2 and other devices are available, so maybe the U11 could still be the best pick.

Considering I just had to use my 10 to take a picture of my U11, I got a huge reminder of how much faster the U11 is.

Just get a good case and screen protector. Gorilla Glass 5 is junk and all the flagships are using it.

If you want LG, wait for the V30 or fork over for the Pixel 2 XL but I can tell you that the U11 is a beast of a device. Even though I managed to scratch the display, I still maintain its the best device I've ever used. Gorilla Glass 5 is just easier to scratch apparently. Nothing a screen protector can't fix but something to be aware of with all the new phones using it. If I had a dollar for every time I hear someone cracked their S8s, I could probably buy a second U11.

I had the G6 for a short while... It really is a great phone and I have to disagree with Windozeanti about the UI not being polished and smooth because I experienced no such thing, but it is true about there being no root. You do miss out on having the latest processor as well, but that's if you can even tell the difference. There's a lot of great deals going on for it as well which may be enough to sway your decision. The U11 is better overall though and so will the next PIxel, but we still have a couple days before we get the info on it.

I had the htc for two weeks but it had a screen flaw and I had a replacement where I payed the extra cash and got the U11 and damn there is a big difference
the U11 is very very fast the design is also more luxurious but less durable camera is of course better and one of the most additions is the boom sound they are much louder than the 10 so grtting the u1q will be an upgrade just make sure you get the 6gb ram version otherwise don't as the future proofing will differ very much.
