I'm on AT&T and looking at getting the HTC One X, SG3, or waiting on the note 2. Any advice as to which phone I should I get?
Well, if you had to buy now, I would say you get the Galaxy SIII. You might hate Touchwiz, but if Sense is your thing, there's a port of Sense 4 coming from the Sense4all guys. Performance is good, and you should expect a Jelly Bean rollout soon.

The One X is a good device, but if you plan on rooting it, the 2.20 update (which is on all shipped S4 One X/XL devices) essentially puts you out of luck. The international version is fine, though, and you can also get an official bootloader unlock on it.

I say hold off a little longer til you can compare the s3, and note 2 to the One X+. Remember, a variant of the X+ just passed through the FCC, bound for AT&T, just 2 weeks ago. We should hopefully get a definite release date at their events scheduled for tomorrow. My opinion, wait for the Note 2 and X+ to release and compare those 2.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll wait to compare the S3, note 2 and One X+. Maybe the One X+ will be easier to unlock and root versus the current One X.

One X+ looks great, just the thing I've been looking to upgrade to. I really hope its easier to root and unlock bootloader than the current One X.
On a design note, am I the only one who really hates the red soft buttons?

EDIT: Actually it seems as of the AT&T version of the One X+ is going to keep the white capacitive buttons

Yeah I was just looking at the One X+ and comparing it to the note 2, at phone area and both are great looking phones.
If the One X+ is easier to root i might go with it rather then the note 2 sense i really don't like the touchwiz ui.

Any ideas on what to get? I am so over the vivid that I'm not even going to root or s-off. I filed an insurance claim cause I thought it broke and when the new one was sent out, I fixed the old one. So fml on that. I don't want to be stuck with this much longer.

Go with the s3. My mom just got one and it's a glorious device. Easy to root and plenty of great ROMs to flash. HTC will more than likely continue to give the development community the middle finger.

It does seem like the device to get, but the glass back and lack of lte is a bit of a downer. A reviewer for some company dropped it off a desk and wound up with a major crack on the back. Seems like they could have used a bit more common sense in the design. A case should protect it well enough, but it's still ridiculous that a device of that quality has such a weak exterior.
