US ATT ICS OTA and Leak Questions/Info

I have a few questions about the Blur_Version.67.21.123.MB865.ATT.en.US OTA and would like to try and get some info and facts straight.

First off, this is in regards to MB865 ATT phones on the ICS LEAK, no other leaks or models.
I'm on the ICS Leak for ATT and obviously there is an OTA available now (Blur_Version.67.21.123.MB865.ATT.en.US) 43MB which will bring your system up to Blur_Version.67.21.125.MB865.ATT.en.US. Then it says that there is an optional package called (Blur_Version.67.21.125.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip) 42.6MB which contains who knows what because from what I can tell, no one has installed the OTA for the leak.

Isn't it weird that there is an OTA for a Leak in the first place?
Do you think that the OTA is a prep package and the optional update is the final?

I know there are 5000 threads for ICS and Leaks right now, but I'm trying to contain and address info for the ATT leak and OTA specifically.
I'm considering installing the OTA since I haven't wanted or needed to revert to GB mainly because I want to see what is in the optional OTA package Blur_Version.67.21.125.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip

So to be completely clear I'm going to list build and model info below so that we're all on the same page. I'm curious as to what you devs and other ATT users have to input on this. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, and thanks in advance.

I don't have any info for you but thank you for including plenty of information and a picture, I'm sure once the person who can answer your questions sees this they'll appreciate it. It'd be nice to have a sticky thread with all the information we need, things are all over the place right now.

That's what I'm saying man, and that was half of the reason I even posted this in the first place. We need some organization and I think the mods, devs, and regulars users are fed up with the fly-by-night postings about anything and everything being posted anywhere and everywhere. It's hard to find the info you want and need, let alone be certain it's accurate.

I've been doing A LOT of reading here because my A2 hasn't arrived yet, and things are all over the place, one person is contradicting the other and things are just incredibly confusing. So I think we as a community would really really benefit from having a nice sticky thread with all the latest information, well formatted, and easy to read, it'll save people starting 10000 threads asking the same question because the answer is buried in the deep dark murky depths of page 5. I'd be more than happy to do it myself but as a newcomer just as confused as everyone else it wouldn't be a very good resource.

Your idea to better organize this particular Q&A forum is well justified as it is all very confusing to those of us that don't have this site on perpetual refresh throughout our day (although I do). I think you almost hit the nail on the head, and perhaps by setting up some guidelines for title format and question submission might do the trick to keep things a bit more clear. Although the common rant is to use the search, I think perhaps those results are so convoluted with so many dirty threads that it is inefficient and ineffective sometimes.

I will however point you to a thread in this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879998 where your exact questions about the leak are asked.

Based on what one of the Devs (alteredlikeness) did in poking around with the update, it appears to be a small push (45mb instead of 250mb)to get those of us with Leak#1 up to Leak#2, with there also being the risk of losing any ability to fxz back to 2.3.6. It was not recommended to push this update if you want this ability, but if you are stock ICS Leak #1 with no other mods, no one is stopping you from trying if that floats your boat.

That being said as well, rdavisct also took the time to cook the safer system pieces of this update into his Supercharged V7 ROM to bring those of us running his ROM closer to what is believed to be a more closer representation of what Moto will release in the real OTA, albeit with his deodexed and debloated modifications.

I hope this helps to answer any confusion you may have. As someone who does live in perpetual F5 land here, I would recommend spending as much time reading as you can, practicing patience, and learn as much about the nuts and bolts of your phone before you start connecting USB cables and downloading updates. Especially if your life revolves around your phone.

You Sir are a gentleman and a scholar, very nice post and very good points about reading before touching a usb cable. We could use some more guides especially on the topic of ics.
