ok, i installed it. no issues so far!

installation instructions:
1. download (or update to the latest version) firmware finder
2. click search (bottom right corner)
3. click "BTV-W09C128B350" FullOTA
4. click register for update (beta)
5. copy DNS address (save it somewhere)
6. click register update
7. download and install "firmware finder proxy"
8. follow instructions in the firmware finder proxy app
9. go back to firmware finder and click "send firmware to updater"
10. go to huawei update (settings > updater)
11. click check for updates
12. download update (2.4 GB i think). click install and it will reboot.

10min later, it'll finish rebooting and you'll have nougat! the only thing wrong with it is it doesn't pass safetynet, so apps that check root may not work. exact status is:

safetynet response
cts profile match: false
basic integrity: true

quick update, i used it for quite a bit last night and happy to report that i found no glaring bugs or issues. bluetooth works great, 5ghz wifi is enabled, and it seems to be much snappier overall. loving the more normal EUI 5.0 interface as well. it's great to finally have quick settings and notifications back on the same notification shade again

edit, 5ghz is not enabled as i thought

Thanks for these instruction. I didn't do Step 9 as I couldn't find that option. I am unrooted btw.

Did you have to restore any DNS settings back to what they were?

When you downloaded the file, was it 2 files?

Edit : Nevermind, I got it done. So happy to finally have a completely functional nougat build on the wifi version of this tablet

Nougat does seem a lot better over all for the tablet. Fixes the phone/tablet display issue. The fix doesn't last through reboots but easy to re-enable. Is there any way to enable 5mhz band without rooting?

I have a w09c128 that I flashed the c100 firmware on. I just flashed the new c128 firmware, so you're safe to go back and forth

Upgraded Emui 5 and Android 7.0 Nougat Model BTV-W09C128B350

Hi all, I'm a US user with W09 and would like to get it to Nougat - I have read the entire "Update to EMUI 5.0" thread and there appeared to be several possible routes, but most were regarding the European version.

I have a US Wi-Fi model and have no allegiance in keeping it a US one, if there's a way to remove the regional aspect to gain access to the update (BETA or otherwise).

I would greatly appreciate if someone who has some experience with or is very confident of the correct path would shed some light for me.

Thank you!
Did you get the upgrade? My Tablet finally notified me in June, and prompted me to download and install the latest greatest (US version). I like the new set up, it is more like my Nexus 6P now. I lost one wallpaper or screensaver in the process which I would like to find again but this tablet is fantastic!

I got the update to EM5.0 in US. Much better than previous! An app drawer is awesome. I may actual use their launcher now. Settings menu is much better too.

I also appreciate the new animation when powering on. Far less dated.
