I wanted to start a thread where people could post cases/backs that work on the US variants of the phone to provide Qi/Powermat charging. I am sure there are a lot of people confused by the different options.

Powermat
AT&T Black Quick Circle Case

Qi

It should probably be noted that the AT&T version doesn't work with the QI backs. I believe it has been confirmed that their powermat circle case works with other versions though.

This is good news if true, it would suggest that the AT&T model not accepting Qi backs is a software limitation, not a hardware one. Would you mind pointing me to the thread/post that confirms this? I've been following most of the XDA threads that are discussing this, but I didn't see anyone mention that the PMA AT&T works on non-AT&T models.

Thanks!

Has his been confirmed with a Qi back that DID work on a t-mobile/sprint/verizon version, or just with the backs from Korea with a slightly different pin layout than the US variants?

Lots of different threads on this, hard to keep up with what we know for certain or not.

Now I can't find the post where someone claimed it, but I'm pretty sure I read that. I already ordered a qi back and charger so I wasn't giving it much attention. I'll look more when I get a chance. Fatboypup did say he ordered it for his sprint phone so you could keep an eye on his posts. ;)

Sorry for the n00b question but what's wrong w/ PMA vs QI?
As far as I know, one isn't really superior to another, but if you already have a bunch of qi devices making a switch would be annoying and expensive.

What type of speed difference are we talking about with these wireless charging options vs. USB 10%, 25%, 50%?

I don't think there's much of a difference by standard. You'll just have to look at reviews of individual chargers. I bought this one which had good reviews. Apparently only the black circular ones with the black, red, or blue lining are true powerbots and the rest are fakes and much slower to charge though, according to one review. I've never had a device with wireless charging so I don't know much about it except for how the technology works in general.

Browsing around, I haven't found anyone with Qi charging as of yet for US. Seems Version and Sprint for now anyways just have a snap on case instead of removing the back of the G3 so no wireless charging functionality.

AT&T has PMA. Not sure what T-mobile will have, even the LG reps in one of the t-mobile stores where clueless.

I tried wireless Qi charging with my Nexus 7, it sucked as it was ridiculously slow. I returned it that model which was manufactured by Nokia. So I may just get the snap on case for the LG G3 instead anyways and live with quick circle functions.

Hopefully the Quick Circle case from AT&T will work. It sucks having to switch over to Powermat, but at least it is a working solution.
