Are you already rooted? Yes, no?
If no, is your phone eligible for root? (open market LG US998 V30 bought from authorized retailers like B&H Photo, not U.S.Cellular model)
If yes to either of those questions you can be rooted (or rooted again) with this KDZ. However if rooted now, you will need to temporarily lock your bootloader again, and then after flashing, unlockbootloader/install TWRP/root again.
If already rooted, make sure you have your unlock.bin file that LG sent you -- since you will need it again.
If you've not done any of that yet, this update shouldn't make you ineligible for bootloader unlock. That eligibility is decided by the IMEI range in the LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list website, not what version of firmware you are running.
My open market LG US998 V30+ cannot be rooted right now, and I'm keeping my wife's open market US998 V30 just stock. (I don't have time to mess with two rooted phones.) So those two are now on the latest Nougat 10D.
My other open market LG US998 V30 (my spare) is bootloader unlocked, rooted, has TWRP and is still on earlier 10C. For me, right now it's not worth the hassle of what I just described to you, when I feel Oreo is coming very soon. I'm already on the "Oreo" compatible TWRP on that one. When US998 Oreo comes, I'll decide then whether to relock bootloader, upgrade or leave as-is and just install Oreo custom ROM. I've resisted installing ROM (even though some are already Oreo, based on South Korea/Europe Oreo) because I've been helping out the T-mobile guys.

I think I'll take the advice and wait for Oreo update. I'm on weta 1.5 rooted us998. Thanks man!
