I've got other 2 non oneplus passive adapters and both require turning OTG on.
Correct. I don't have any kind of mods whatsoever, and I'm completely stock with the bootloader locked. So you never have to toggle OTG mode (a stupid OnePlus addition, they should've just left it enabled like other phones) to use that adapter, just plug it in? That would suggest that they might've removed that requirement.
You haven't done this by any chance?

Could you measure the charging current while playing audio with Ampere or a similar app? That would be really helpful.I just received this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/USB...e-Cable-AUX-Audio-For-Xiaomi/32952948600.html
I don't know if it's due to improvements in 9.5.8, but I don't need to turn on OTG or anything to make it work.
Just plug it in and it works perfectly, to both charge and listening to music. Though I'd say it'd be a bad idea to actually charge through this, would only rely on the charge port in case of emergency situations.
Sure, you can see the comparison of the warp charger directly connected to the phone v/s the warp charger connected through this adapter v/s music playing through the adapter and warp charger connected.Could you measure the charging current while playing audio with Ampere or a similar app? But you are still getting ~1.3A charging current. That is more than some of the other adapters which had ~500mA. Thanks for the screen shots, that was helpful.Sure, you can see the comparison of the warp charger directly connected to the phone v/s the warp charger connected through this adapter v/s music playing through the adapter and warp charger connected.
These work fine without toggling the OTG toggle. Could be due to the change in 9.5.8 though but who cares. Regardless, the quality of the adapter I ordered feels really high. Are you sure that turning on OTG mode is required on the OnePlus 7 Pro when using passive adapters? The post I quoted below seems to suggest otherwise.
I bought a OnePlus adapter but it feels pretty flimsy due to the thin cable so I was looking at buying a few Ugreen ones to use instead. Having to toggle a stupid setting every single time would be seriously annoying though.

Hello can be used for making or answering phone calls or it's only for music or video listening?Edit: I initially tested this adapter with Spotify downloaded songs with a "normal" bit rate setting. I changed the Spotify "Downloads" settings to "Very High" and repeated the sound quality test with this adapter and am very impressed. It seems equal to an inbuilt 3.5mm head phone jack that I had previously used. I'm more satisfied with this purchase than when I initially wrote this post.
Just received a OnePlus 7 Pro Nebula Blue two days ago. I tested the "Soditer Pixel 2 Headphone Adapter,USB C to 3.5mm Adapter" with a OnePlus 5 and it sounded equal to the straight phone jack connection. I bought this adapter because it boasted " sampling rate (up to 384KHz/32bits) along with different songs, usb c to audio jack can drive stereo headphones up to 35mW/32ohm" and included "Realtek chips/DAC". Plus one reviewer said it worked well with his OnePlus 7 Pro.
This adapter also works well with my OnePlus 7 Pro and coincidentally has a matching metallic blue finish. I'm rooted (TWRP, Magisk) and have Viper4Android (V4A) installed. In the V4A UI, you'll need to enable "Master Limiter" in the USB headphone settings to get V4A to process the audio but from there on your golden.
I've only had one call while listening to music (the adapter plugged in) and it worked identically to a 3.5mm earplug. The microphone is in the phone so no change there you just have all audio calls, music ... etc through your earpiece/headphones. I've not had any issues and would still recommend this specific adapter as one that works well with the OP7Pro all around and its handling of high bit rate audio sources. I personally, don't do anything Dolby ATMOS related so can't comment on that audio type.Hello can be used for making or answering phone calls or it's only for music or video listening?
How is the overall impression after 3 weeks you are owner ?
Any negative aspect that you see or everything works fine?
Thanks in advanced .
