Just a warning to anyone using the Google USB-C-to-3.5 adapter and any like it, the OP7P does not detect whether a microphone is plugged in correctly. I plugged in regular headphones, received a call, and it attempted to use a non-existent microphone (not headset, headphones, no mic). Annoying, but easy fix is to pull adapter on call or switch output to handset/speaker.

Soul Sound Type C Audio Adapter

I purchased a Soul Sound Type C Audio Adapter with DAC, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working when i plug in my headphones. I was thinking could be a setting in USB. i switched off the charging when connected and power cycled and still nothing.

@lvints

I tested it and still testing right now while on a call. I have Shure SE215 in ear monitors (16 Ohm impedance) with MMCX cable with mic and it is ok.
Loudness is ok, depends really on the quality of call signal - I traveled around 150 km so far and loudness and call quality depends on which signal tower you are logged in at the moment. Overall I have no issues with loudness while driving a car and having one monitor in my ear with mic attached. I am happy but will switch in the future to wireless iem's.
Bought also One Plus Bullets v1 but I have not tested them, not even sure why I have ordered them.
I will try to sell them along with stock warp charger and cable.

Are you sure that turning on OTG mode is required on the OnePlus 7 Pro when using passive adapters? The post I quoted below seems to suggest otherwise.

I bought a OnePlus adapter but it feels pretty flimsy due to the thin cable so I was looking at buying a few Ugreen ones to use instead. Having to toggle a stupid setting every single time would be seriously annoying though.

So you never have to toggle OTG mode (a stupid OnePlus addition, they should've just left it enabled like other phones) to use that adapter, just plug it in? That would suggest that they might've removed that requirement. :)

You haven't done this by any chance?

Bro, you maybe bought those Ugreen adapters? I have a problem with this adapter and I wanted to ask if it works for you?

UGREEN USB-C to 3.5mm Jack adapter dongle

Hey guys,
I bought one piece of UGREEN Jack adapter, but I have a terrible problem with it and I can't control button music. Yesterday I had a very strange situation.
I flashed the new OxygenOS system and the first time I managed to control the music through the Ugreen adapter using buttons on my earphones. I could even talk through my earphones using UGREEN dongle. Unfortunately, after a while when I plugged in the larger JBL headphones I lost the ability to control with the buttons on the headphones and the ability to talk (the microphone has stopped working).
This is very strange for me. The more so because after a fresh installation of the system this adapter worked and I remember perfectly well that I even managed to make a call (using the microphone on the earphones). I was happy, because I thought it was some kind of system bug after upgrading from Android Pie to Android 10. Unfortunately, after a while the same thing happened as before - the control doesn't work, the microphone in conversation also stopped working.
I also wanted to point out, that with the OnePlus adapter (from Aliiexxprees) the control was working, but this adapter broke down after 2 months (the cable is very thin). My current system is OxygenOS 10.0.4. I use Poweramp for music. And I have flashed Magisk (Viper application) and Xposed too. Moreover, I did deactivate all modules in Magisk, but without effect - the control does not work.
I'm running out of ideas. I'm very surprised, that at the beginning the adapter worked, and then completely not :/

Maybe someone has some ideas? Maybe someone is using UGREEN Jack adapter or has used and can confirm?
Have a good day!

I bought one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/USB-DAC-Portable-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B07VL9XCQ5/

from Amazon. Yeah, the price was a bit steep, but there was a $3 off coupon at the time of my purchase (I also used rewards points to drop the price to $6.44 after taxes). And I was shocked to find a card inside the packaging that told me to contact them to get another one FREE. I did so and they really did send me another one for free. They didn't ask me to leave a 5 star review or anything, but I did because it works really well.
