I wonder if the adapter included with Razer's new phone will work with the Pixel 2/XL. Seems like a pretty fine adapter.
Someone in the P2 Accessories thread mentioned the Essential Phone's adaptor worked. Assuming the Razor Phone uses a DAC in the adaptor it should (99.9%) work just fine. Just won't know til the phone is launched.

What a joke, Google. I assumed the cheaper ones on Amazon would work, but now that the Pixel 2 is out in the wild, it seems like most don't. So we could have gotten a LG V20 3.5mm jack in the Pixel 2 XL and similar in the Pixel 2, and spent nothing additional on headsets. Instead, we have to buy expensive headsets, or get adapters. If I wanted to spend $100 more, I would have spent it to get the 128gb version. Instead I might spend it on adapters or some new headset.

From possibilities posted by people above, only the $14.80 + $4.01 shipping ones seem to work. I'm excluding the things other than adapters that people linked to.

Does not work
This does not work with a pixel 2

This statement is NOT true. I have a Pixel 2 XL which has no 3.5mm headphone jack and my phone says it is not compatible!

For those interested, just to let know the Fiio K1 dac/amp works with my Pixel2 XL. Sound output much better than the original adapter. Already ordered usb-c to microusb male-male cable since the otg adapter I currently using is quite bulky

Looks like we have a couple of more options now. Still in the $20 range for now. They seem to mostly be the same and use a Realtek Chip:
BASEVS $17.90 https://www.amazon.com/Basevs-Earph...=1511911610&sr=8-5&keywords=usb+c+3.5mm+pixel
CONMDEX $17.90 https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-CONM...1511911610&sr=8-14&keywords=usb+c+3.5mm+pixel
FARACENT $17.90 https://www.amazon.com/adapter-Fara...1511911783&sr=8-27&keywords=usb+c+3.5mm+pixel
AirsFish $17.90 https://www.amazon.com/Upgrade-Airs...1511911870&sr=8-58&keywords=usb+c+3.5mm+pixel
@bjrmd: Any idea if these are similar to the Geekria ones? I think you stated Geekria used a Realtek chip as well.

The geekria uses a Conexant system (not sure which one based on the data I saw).

Thanks for posting the above, I'll order one of the Realteks and test it!

I still don't understand how Google went from talking *ish about Apple 1 year to being "brave" the next...I can totally see why they drop the "Don't be evil" moto...cause this was a complete d*ick move on their part smh....All so they can make a couple extra ducks selling adapters

Doesn't work properly in what way? The website states they had to update the device due to compatibility issues with 7.x and 8.x.
Sound stops after a few seconds or every song change in headphones, but phone keeps playing the song normally.

It only happens with Android, the DAC works flawlessly under Windows.

This is from their site.
UPDATE NOV 2017: We have made a tweak to the latest batch to improve compatibility with Android for this Type-C DAC. This removes the "skipping" issues previously reported with some phones.
UPDATE NOV 2016: Android 6.X and 7X introduced a bug when this DAC is used with some phones (Nexus, Samsung). It works if you put it in Airplane mode. The problem doesn't occur on computers (Macbooks etc).

If the included adaptor with the phone works without issue I'd get ahold of HiFime and see if they'd replace it.
