Just wanted to share some good info on the jig I just got from Amazon. The Sainsonic micro usb dongle jig for Samsung Galaxy S Captivate/Vibrant works perfectly in the E4GT. I think I paid about 4 bucks for it. Boots right to downloader. Now I don't have to worry about bricking my phone. Hope this helps

I'm not worthy. I saw zedomax's tutorial and my eyes glassed over. I'll get there someday. Just be patient with my noobness!

It is actually really easy to do. I have seen some tutorials that shouldn't even exist. Using wires when they aren't even needed, the work wasn't done cleanly, etc. I do my own because I know they work and they look somewhat professional.

Yeah, I saw the pic. Those look freaking legit! I just thought I'd throw this thread together for other noobs who might be a lil overwhelmed with hot guns and resistors and such. Again, I have so much to learn!

Yeah, I saw those. Shipping put it over 4 bucks for me. I was ordering a new 32gb class 10 uhs1 micro sd card anyway, so it was free shipping on Amazon. But yeah, works great when you're flashing like crazy and want to get into dl mode quickly too.

Care to share? :D
Once I move, I plan on mass producing them for a few members, including the JV testers. That will be some time next month. I may start selling them on ebay. I like mine more than the normal ones that you see... Mine are more reliable. The ones that most sell only last for a little while because they use a tiny surface mount resistor that gives out quickly. Granted they look neat and professional, but aren't worth it in my opinion.

Sign me up. They look awesome, and I'm sure you are right that mine will crap out on me sooner rather than later. But it was for piece of mind more than anything since I am tinkering with this phone daily, wanted to have something to keep me from bricking it! Plus I get lazy sometimes and it is easier than holding down power+ volume down :):beer:

Won't keep you from bricking. Ypu Bork your bootloader, you are screwed and will need a JTAG. But that doesn't happen very often.

Good to know, let's hope that doesn't happen! That would suck. I always read, reread, and flash from a stable kernel so hopefully that won't ever happen. But good info to know. Thanks

Usually borking your bootloader is a result of flashing an i9100 ROM or kernel, or a bad USB connection during an Odin flash.

Be careful about what you flash and use Odin with care and you'll be fine.

Also good to know. I was sure to not get them mixed up first time I flashed, esp since I'm on Boost and its sold as the "Galaxy SII" can be a bit misleading. That's why you read read and read on here! Thanks for the lesson Adreaver!

It already is. Just cuz I'm white I can't hate a person of minority for their actions without being called a racist. It has nothing to do with skin color when someone is a total douche wouldn't matter if they were freaking transparent to me, but god forbid their skin is darker than mine and suddenly I'm a fu*king racist. Its ridiculous.
