Use Nexus as extra Mac display?

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for using my nexus 7 as a secondary display for my mac. It seems all the apps I could find on google play haven't been updated in a while and seem to have poor reviews. Is ther any non google play app solution or perhaps an app I missed?
