Switched the dir-655 to mixed b and g. Wifi is working! Thanks guys.

Anyone know why cm9 doesn't play nice with N?

Edit: confirmed ..fix works!

added these 2 lines to build.prop
qemu.sf.lcd_density=240
ro.sf.hwrotation=270

The resolution is certainly changed, and everything is larger.
However the rotation is flaky as are most of the desktop screens
Ideas Anybody?

I discovered that the lcd density setting is not in build.prop under /system. It is in local.prop in /data. the default setting is 160. I can change it to 240 and systemui.apk force closes and you have no status bar. I tried setting the rotation and everything really gets screwed up. Not sure how to recover.

EDIT: Don't do the hwrotation thing! It took me forever to get that back to normal. It does make the boot animation thing right, but EVERYTHING else is messed up bad. Touches are all in the wrong place. DON'T DO IT!

Good for you for finding it. Will look into it, and keep you up to date in case I figure it out.
If CM7 GB's resolution can easily be modified, there is no reason why we cannot do this in CM9

Someone who knows what they are doing needs to modify systemui.apk so that it is compatible with 240 (or any density other than 160). Keyodi? You modified the broken one in CM 7.1 nightlies and seem to be working on CM9. Help us please!

Again, DO NOT MODIFY HWROTATION!

Is anyone else having problems getting the Amazon market to accept a valid login? I'm able to login fine in cm7, but I get no love in ics.

Thanks!

I had this happen to me when I put MIUI on my Evo 3D. Turns out, the overarching issue is that Amazon only allows you to have up to, I think, 35 devices registered to your Amazon account. After you hit that count, it stops letting you log in with new devices, and when you flash a different ROM, then set it up again, it registers it as a new device.

You will want to log into your amazon account at amazon.com, then go to "Your account", then "Your Apps and Devices" (Under the digital content section - Also here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/your-account/myapps/yourdevices). Then go to Actions>Deregister device on older devices/rom's you aren't using.

This should allow you to sign in again after its cleared up a bit.

OK, I found a work around. Even though systemui crashes, you can install Button Savior. I had bought that in the early Nook Color days when there were no back or menu buttons. It now has been updated to work with ics. It works great. The back and menu buttons are available via a soft key on the side. The notification bar is at the top and shows time, wifi, etc.and can be pulled down with your finger. I have it set for 240 density and use ADW as my launcher. I'm in heaven!

Thanks... I found that out. But since you are so kind as to respond, and
seeing who you are, can you advise as to a proper solution for increasing density
without ill affects?
if your looking to increase font size by changing LCD density you can do that using the build in option in the settings menu under display

Posted this here instead of the dev section in fear of being collectively stoned (not that I really think I would be, just a precaution). Just thought I'd ask you guys this. All this talk about fixing the bootanimation got me into thinking: is there a custom bootanimation in the works/being planned exclusively for cm9? You know, just like that cool boot animation for cm7 where there's an android on a skateboard. :) Kinda curious how it looks like. Oh, and I'm definitely not asking for an ETA or anything. I'm just curious about how it will look like, ya know. :D You guys rock! Thanks for everything!

My one issue (and I've searched far and wide for this one) is that in the GMail app the composing screen is just ever so slightly bigger than my NC screen, so that the left and right edges are cropped off. I can't swipe to recenter or anything. The rest of GMail looks fantastic. It's a great update to the app and I really want to use it but if the compose window remains too big for the NC that would be truly annoying. Considering how everything else in the NC ICS build looks fantastic and beautiful I'm wondering if it's just me. I've tried reflashing gapps, reflashing a gmail apk. I'm looking into LCD density but I don't want to change it globally and I hear it's a pain.

I have the same issue, and I don't think it's been brought up by anyone yet. I've pretty much read every post and haven't come across this. You can get around it by turning your nook landscape instead of portrait. I usually read my emails in landscape anyway so I don't have to pan right and left on emails with graphics.

Good to know. Would love to see a fix in the future for this but I totally understand that it's not the first priority.

Good for you. I tried your method, and it surely works, and so is easier on my
old eyes. There are however occasional glitches with icon tapping and hitting the wrong apps. These issues are not present on CM7, and as we already mentioned, hopefully one pf the devs will find a more accurate permanent solution.
Thanks again.

Does anybody know of a way to hide the bottom status bar while in fullscreen on some apps? It kind of gets annoying for reading books and comics in landscape.

This: (Link) worked for honeycomb tablets but it looks like it is incompatible with ICS so no options as of now...
Thanks for the quick reply. To bad, this and the Trebuchet launchers lack of a dock and customization are the only major problems I can find at the moment. Still a very solid release for an alpha.

Edit: My logitech Dual action usb controller works perfectly! Tried GBA,GB, and the mupen64 emu and all of them recognize my controller. This is awesome and make me wish more than ever that n64oid was working.

Sorry I didn't see this anywhere on this thread and hope this isn't a stupid questions. I saw on some youtube video of ICS on nook that there is a dock on the home screen and a "scroll bar" on the home page too, but I don't see it using either Launcher or Trebuchet. Not important, just thought I'd ask.

Thank you SO MUCH to the devs for this. I'm loving it!

Location services

I noticed (I think in the dev thread at some point) about Location services not working in CM9. I noticed something similar on my own NC when I installed CM9 (on both SP2 and one of the unofficial nightly builds). I read someone say that a different version of Maps will resolve this issue, but I have yet to determine which one, and if this is actually true.

Anyway, I realized this morning that while location wasn't working for most of my applications (i.e. Maps (when you try to have it go to your location, it says "Please enable a My Location source in system settings"), Facebook, etc) that Latitude was updating my location, even though Maps refused to find my location.

To add to the mystery, I also installed TetherGPS from the market (you'll also need to enable Mock Locations for this app to work), and even without tethering it to anything, the location stuff (for all the apps that used to not work) magically start working!

Has anyone else noticed this? Any idea why this is happening?
