Using China rom

Hello. I have a question about my mi 8 which is currently running the China rom.
I've set it all up, installed play store etc and hidden all the Chinese apps I have no use for so for the best part the phone appears to be similar to that of the global rom.
My question is, is it ok to just continue using my phone as is or should I make it a priority to switch it over to the global rom? I don't know if there are major reasons to switch it over.

You should be fine running the China rom. The global rom is a little smaller (around 200 mb I think) but probably not enough smaller to justify re-doing your setup.

Once you have unlocked the bootloader you can try one of many custom roms based on the Chinese beta. They are all quite good and already have the Chinese Bloatware completely removed.
