Thank you for your reply!

I live in a region where GPay isn't used and I'm so not interested in Fit on my watch, i use the phone GUI for that although, i guess this means background heart rate measuring doesn't work.

Play store could be an issue as I need to use Endomondo.

Anyway, I'll follow the guide I have and update you later.

I am currently running through the setup process right now for my phone and then i'll follow one of the many guides for installing GMS and let you know if I can copy the account across.
To install applications to the smartwatch you can do it through the app on the smartphone called bugjaeger.

So I have installed several apps by sending them through the wifi connection between smartwatch and smartphone.

You already tell me if you have managed to copy the google account to the smartwatch !!

I tried several possible solutions and still have not succeeded.

Good luck bro!

No luck getting the account across, sadly. But anyway, thank you for the tip about Bugjaeger!

Just tried that, thanks. Also, I could only see 1 method in there.

Except now, no matter what I do or how many times I repeat the procedure Wear OS on the phone stops at the start and just shows the Wear logo.

edit:

I found a process that works, at least, it gets Wear working and i don't get constant errors. Still can't copy my account across though. I do get asked for my pin code but straight after that it says unable to copy account.

I downloaded this app and I have no idea how to do this. I have tried finding user guides but nothing seems clear enough to help an idiot like me. Could you give me a few steps to install, please?

edit:

It's ok. I worked it out.
1 - enabled Developer Options on watch
2 - get IP address from watch in Wifi setting
3 - connect BugJaeger using IP address
4 - click the + at the very top of BugJaeger

Only question is, I've installed (stupidly) the "main" application APK and not the Wear APK. Any idea how to UNINSTALL? Also, i'm unable to find any Wear OS app APK example, Endomondo or iHeart Radio which both have Wear OS companion apps

Downloaded wear os apk from Play Store.

If I search for Endomondo then I only see ONE APK, the PHONE client.

https://play.google.com/store/search?q=endomondo wear os

I can't find the WEAR OS version, only the PHONE version APK. If I push the PHONE version then it doesn't display properly on the watch as the screen resolution is tiny compared to the phone screen.

Surely there is a smaller (maybe embedded in the Phone APK) APK that is for the watch, it's that I can't find.

Dont get hung-up on Endomondo, it's just an example of a phone app that has a companion app for a watch.

https://developer.android.com/distribute/best-practices/launch/distribute-wear

"Package your app

If you have an existing app for phones and other devices, we recommend that you deliver your watch app using the same package name and store listing. This lets users upgrade to your Wear OS experience seamlessly"

So there "Endomondo" package APK has 2 "Install files" in it, one for the phone, one for the watch.

You said you installed WATCH APKs (because PHONE APKs dont work with the screen size of a watch). Where did you get those?

I have been able to have the smartwatch with the google account and everything working 100%. Gpay, play store, google fit, etc.

You will have to configure it first with a smartphone that is not this huawei p40 pro and then follow the tutorial of the link is very simple!

Thanks for the link, sorted my problem out. So I thought I would add the text script from that post here for everyone to see.
Pair Android Wear to New/Same Phone Without Wiping
(https://www.xda-developers.com/pair-android-wear-without-factory-reset/)

This is taken from an XDA post in the Wear section but I thought it would be good to get a copy here too. Use this routine to switch a Wear Watch with a Google account working on a phone to any non GMS phone. It will keep the google accounts on the watch and work fully with your non GMS phone. In my case, I used my Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro attached to a Huawei Mate 20 Pro and moved it to my Huawei Mate 30 Pro (GMS hack installed but not GMS enabled). You need to do this as wiping your watch and pairing it to a non native GMS phone will work but you will not be able to get your Google account or play store on to the new pairing.

First, you will need to download the ADB tools. I personally use the “Minimal ADB and Fastboot Kit” found right here on XDA, but you are welcome to use the official binaries from Google if you wish. Next, you will need to enable ADB debugging on your smartwatch (both wired or over WiFi debugging are fine, though I find WiFi more convenient). This is enabled through Developer options on your smartwatch, which you will also need to enable. To do this, simply go to Settings → system → about on your watch and tap the field labeled “Build number” until you see a toast message stating “you are now a developer”. Once you have followed these steps, you’re ready to begin!

Enabling ADB debugging on your watch
Open Developer options and enable “ADB debugging” or “Debug over wifi” if you wish to do it wirelessly. The process to sync Android Wear to your smartphone will work fine both ways, but they require slightly different commands.
Initial setup to sync Android Wear will require a different command whether you are doing it over WiFi or not. Please open adb tools, either by searching adb in your Windows search bar or navigating to the folder containing adb, holding shift then right clicking and selecting “open command window here”. Then enter the below commands.

Over WiFi
In my case, I would type:
adb connect 192.168.1.100:5555
To connect to my Android Wear watch. The IP address you need to enter is located under “Debug over WiFi”. Accept the prompt on the watch allowing the computer to debug. If successful, it will simply go back to the command prompt where you can type. There is now text output.

Wired
Substantially easier in commands, simply connect your device to your computer and type:
adb devices
If your device shows up, you’re fine. Make sure you accepted the prompt on your watch to allow it to debug.

Sending the Commands
To continue on, first disable Bluetooth on your phone and then on your computer type:
adb shell “pm clear com.google.android.gms && reboot”
Your watch will reboot, but no Android Wear factory reset will occur. When it boots back up it should no longer show a crossed out cloud icon indicating that it can’t connect to your phone. You will now want to install the Android Wear app on your phone (if you don’t already have it), but don’t enable Bluetooth yet.

Next, connect to the smartwatch via ADB again with the exact same steps as before. This time however, the command you want to run is:
adb shell “am start -a android.bluetooth.adapter.action.REQUEST_DISCOVERABLE”
And then on your watch allow it to be discoverable to other devices so you can sync Android Wear with the smartphone. You may now connect to Android Wear from your smartphone by opening the Wear app, enable Bluetooth, and search for devices. Your Android Watch should show up and your phone will sync with it. If the app hangs on “Checking for updates”, simply restart the app and it should begin to connect to Android Wear.

Explanation
The simple explanation as to why this works is that all smartphone-smartwatch pairing data is contained in Google Play Services. This data is phone-specific as the keys are stored in the Play Services data located on the smartwatch. This is the reason why you can’t simply Titanium Backup the Android Wear application from your smartphone, because the keys you need are stored on the smartwatch. When you try to pair a new phone (or have installed a new custom ROM and the watch thinks it’s a new phone), the keys are normally wiped through an Android Wear factory reset.
The only way to get around this is to instead wipe the key data which allows you to pair Android Wear with a new device without factory resetting as the keys that pair it to your phone are also cleared. We then request the smartwatch’s Bluetooth to be made discoverable via an intent sent through adb, which creates the prompt you see that needs to be accepted. This means your phone can now find your watch and then create new pairing keys with the device.

You legend! All working PERFECTLY, Play Store on the watch up and running.

Also, I wish I had known about this procedure before as it's much quicker than having to reset the watch every year when I buy a new phone :D

So slight correction. Play Store etc. all working perfectly on the watch now with one exception.

When I drop out of Wifi coverage the watch reports the lost cloud connection icon top of the screen. I still get all my notifications etc. but if the watch tries to access the internet via the phone, for example the Watch play store, it fails to connect.

This really isn't a big issue as the biggest functionality for me is to see and respond to notifications which still work but, would be nice to cure this.

Anyone any ideas?

I noticed that in the Watch Bluetooth settings I still have the original phone but it is marked as "Disconnected" as well as the new phone. Do you have the same. Could you take a quick look, please?

there does not appear to be an option to disconnect the old phone in there, sadly.

Than connect the Smartwatch on my new Mate30 Pro and Google Pay should work only when installed on the Smartwatch or should i install the Gpay App on my Mate30 too ?

I configured the smartwatch with a phone with Android and GMS and then I did the method of the post that I copied above and with the p40 pro and the installed GMS I configured gpay from the smartwatch itself and it works well!

After few days of use like this on a P40 Pro with GMS, a notification with "please make a factory reset" has appear, an none of the apps I previously installed works properly. Before the message no problem, and now, the "broken cloud" logo for lost of connection has appear, and it is impossible to get anything work.
