DId it work after the update? deathangel66669

Mine works for calling and internet. SMS is not working. I am going to talk to the service provider to find if there is something missing on their end for its not the phone issue. I tried my wifes sim and it works.

I simply went back, flashed U firmware, completed all security updates, got the root and simply restored using flash fire. Now phones good and the battery is pretty decent. I used a mix of both the lag fixes and with govtuner and greenify the phone is snappy yet with a day of life in it. More than sufficient for me.

Took the plunge and installed the U firmware. First flash triggered dm-verity but 2nd flash took. Totally works great. Voicemail though still looking for a fix without root. I tried Youmail but not liking it a ton and thinking of going back to Google Voice.

Thanks for this! Got a G930V for dirt cheap and need it to run with my T-Mobile SIM until the Pixel phones come out. Gonna load the G930U FW on it to avoid all of the bloat.

I installed 930U on my 930V after previously being rooted. Root was too unstable for me so I decided to go back to stock. Samsung Pay is saying it detected unauthorized modifications to the device. Do I need to go back to the Verizon stock version? I like no bloat on 930U... Knox has not been tripped (supposedly).

Edit: Tried a new account to see if it was an account lock. New account didn't fix anything. Going to try formatting device and cache next. Ultimately I'll try going back to Stock 930V and will report back. =(
Edit: Factory reset did not work.
Edit: Going back to stock Verizon ROM did not work.

This is frustrating, probably more to do with original root than this 930U version though.

Edit: Needed to flashing BL file when unrooting. Not sure if it will work with 930U, but I assume it will since BL isn't touched by it.

I was in the exact same situation. As long as you flash the bl, Samsung pay works just fine on the u firmware on a 930v.

Awesome. My next question is, can we indefinitely use 930U as soon as new 930U updates come out or are we reliant on someone else to modify files. Will any 930U version work on the 930V? Will it get OTAs, or do we have to install manually for every update? I don't want to have to set everything up again every time there's an update. And, what are the advantages besides a debloated ROM. That's a big enough advantage itself, but are we looking at faster updates or no?

Wow you went to the wrong Verizon I work at a Verizon retailer and we most certainly don't charge for a sim card so somebody was planning to make $20 off you.. sorry to rant but that doesn't help with the Verizon stigma
I also work for a Verizon retailer and they were definitely trying to get $20 off of you pm me if you guys need a new Sim I got them to send out.may require shipping though.

Well I now stand corrected.. the company I work for was just bought out and now the new company charges $25 for a sim! Absolutely ridiculous..

I assume you work for DW and now got bought out by A wireless because I do as well ;p you should be able to wave that $25 Sim card fee very early by discounting it in rq to $0

I wouldn't risk it

Regardless of what this forum is saying that method does not properly flash your 930v. I don't know if you read all the issues that everyone had when they've tried it, myself included, but it gets you stuck in a boot loop and then it leaves your phone in limbo and it leaves you with a constant security Notice that will not go away. And now I'm stuck in this situation I just don't understand why there are so many strings that claimed to root every phone when clearly the Verizon version is still very hard to root if it's even possible all.

SUCCESS!

Last night, I successfully installed the 930U XAA firmware onto my 930V S7. I did not encounter any issues during install. Just make sure to unzip and install ALL relevant files. It came with 2 CSC files, but I chose the first one that started with CSC for my install. I don't remember was firmware I was on before... Everything works (non-rooted) - LTE, Wireless, bluetooth, calls, texts.

I did though come from a rooted phone.

Do you need to enable OEM unlock or USB debugging? Should you factory reset after flashing? I followed these steps and got it working but the only problem was the animations would glitch. Would factory resetting have fixed this? I ended up flashing back to Verizon firmware because it was so annoying but I really want to get the U firmware working. Any help is appreciated
