Hi, Cant find a tutorial for flash g930U fw on g930v model. I'm placed outside USA and google's outcome are slightly ... "weird" and unaccurate  for english searches.

Could you provide a tutorial link? Any special warning or advice?
Should I repartition (flashing .pit file)

I'm newbbie om samsung, just got familiar with Odin and regular flashing, but ain't with flashing from "branded roms" to unlocked ones

Thanks in advance!

Hi, where did you get so many U Firmwares?

I'll advice you that flash same PDA version you are in g930v, ie:

If your actually g930v PDA ends in "APL2" , flash it g930u firmware that also ends in "APL2". If it ends in "API3", then flash it a 930U ended in "API3" too.

Just wanted to drop my 1 cents in here. I bought my mom a new S7 and wanted to get it rooted to have native hotspot work. Well, after reading all the lag stuff, I decided against it and she'd just continue using foxfi. But, I saw this thread and upgraded the sm-930v firmware I believe it was on APH1. Now I installed APL1 from sm-g930u vzw version, no bloatware, no problems at all, native hotspot working. There are some negative nancy's in this post, but it's working great.
I booted to factory recovery and did factory reset a few times, installed the firmware with Odin, booted to stock recovery again and did factory reset a few times more. Let the phone boot up and kernel stabilize. Installed everything and it took a while for battery usage to be normal after apps optimizing and all that. It's running like a champ and no verizon crap.
I don't care about nougat for her phone, we just need a phone to work flawlessly with hotspot. Will I have to worry about updates being pushed while on a U firmware?

thansk mate, yeah i got it working, i am now on PL2 and the phone is a lot better but it could still improve, eg: the wifi constantly bugs and loses connectivity to the access point. my microphone is all distorted and is not clear when talking on loudspeaker.

not sure if these are known bugs.

Also another question, from this SM-g930u firmware i am now running, am i able to flash a sm-g930F firmware i as i belive the settings would be best for my country and for general performance of the device

much appreciated for the follow up.

Hi Guys any chance of getting the baseband from the SM-G930F on the SM-G930U firmware, my network is terrible and constantly drops out.
Maybe you should check your APN setting?

SM-G930F uses Exynos while SM-G930U (or all other US variant) uses Snapdragon so their firmware won't be compatible. You can check your frequency here - https://www.frequencycheck.com/comp...g930u-galaxy-s7-td-lte-samsung-hero/australia

If the hardware isn't there I don't think there's anything that can be done..

SM-G930U got an update on March 27th to QC1. It's still 6.0.1 MM. Phone actually notified me. Wasnt sure how it would get the updates since we're carrier deficient. Anyone know what's changed? Just modems and security stuff?

I just stumbled upon this as well. The latest update is still MM. I was really banking on the new update being Nougat. I guess making a G930U ROM is out of the question for right now.

Ok so I flashed G930UUES4BQG1 onto my 930V. Everything seems to be working but im not getting LTE when i know for a fact I have 4 bars just before i flashed. I also have a weird Sprint OMADM message that its checking device status.

Now, I went to Sammobile and downloaded the G930UUES4BQG1 firmware with the verizon option. Did I miss a step somewhere? Aside from that I am getting 4G internet and everything does seem to be working. Would a quick csc flash from the original verizon package fix this? I really want to run the U firmware.. Thanks!

Well in case anyone else had this issue, I downloaded the latest U firmware specific to Verizon from updato.com and used the standard CSC included ( not CSC home ). LTE is showing and no more weird Sprint error

Currently running G930UUEU4BQH3 ( released 9/4/17) and all is well! No more Verizon crap yay!

Can some one upload the new firmware I've tried on both sammobile and updato and couldn't get them to extract I've also tried updato android app to down load it
How is someone else uploading the exact same file going to help you extract it?

Update Winrar to the latest version

I'm thinking the 2 sites dl is to slow and correcting the file if some one has dl it and already extracted it then maybe they can Rezip it then upload this would help not only me but others that have or may have this same problem

Ps I have most updated winrar,7zip and winzip

For those that need the software above use the program SamFirm: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647 (I'm using version 0.3.6) and type in Model = SM-G930U and Region = VZW, click Auto and Check Update - it pulls back the correct ROM in this post. It is actually the same download if you put in any other Region code like XAA SPR ATT etc.

Note I tried this software and had to also download the SM-930V variant... I needed to flash not only the CP file (modem settings) but also the CSC (region settings) from the Verizon branded software in my case it was CP_G930VVRS4BQH1_CL11447542_QB14530063_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 and CSC_OYM_G930UOYM4BQH3_CL12006196_QB14665393_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 otherwise no data would connect regardless of settings and no phone activation was possible even using the hidden network menu. Finally gotten it up and running after hours of troubleshooting.... To download the Verizon version: SamFirm settings Model = SM-G930V Region = VZW, then check Manual and type: PDA = G930VVRS4BQH1, CSC = G930VVZW4BQH1, and PHONE = G930VVRS4BQH1. Just burn those Verizon files G930V I mentioned CP and CSC at the same time you burn the G930U version of AP and BL. Works fine with stock Odin v.3.12.3. Hope this helps some people with headaches from trying to get a G930P working on an unlocked version and on Verizon!

What did you do to get this working? I burned the 930U VZW variant identical to yours and it doesn't let me set the mode to LTE\CDMA just LTE\3g\2g - I think that's the issue. I couldn't find the "hidden menu" to change this setting either. Gave up and installed Verizon bloatware which works but drains the battery and is slow... Any advice is appreciated. [FIX IS POSTED ABOVE]

The only thing I did was Odin the Verizon version 930u firmware from Updato.com

Cdma / LTE / global settings were already there. I didn't touch anything.
