Using the Evo in Europe

I'm traveling to Europe in a couple weeks and was going to bring my Evo. I know the radio towers there won't allow phone service and that Wifi should work just fine, but what about GPS? That would be a major function that would be useful.

Any other ideas on what might or might not be useful?

GPS will work as long as you have the proper maps.
Didn't I hear recently that Google updated their maps to include Europe???

You just said it yourself, Radio Towers don't work so no.

Why would radio towers now work? Plenty of people have cell phones over there.... I mean if anything it would be itl roaming and cost a bunch. Or is it the wrong frequences.

.....umm it would work with wifi.

Unless you had all of your maps preloaded to sd card, then it would work like that.
