UX User Interface Developer 4 grabs ---> Blue Carbon Fiber Sense UI + Battery_C v1.3b

Hi all, I am a newbie, but an HTML User Interface Developer by trade. I have just started learning Android, I have an hTc Desire(not branded), hence I want to try helping everyone here and in the process grow my knowledge with this OS. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but i chose here as i have a desire, and do not know much about other devices yet.

I thank everyone for all their hard work and I would love to be a part of this.

I am a graphics specialist, with 3D Animation experience, hence I offer my services to design for you as you require images and graphics for your apps/ROMs...(provided i am given enough time).

Hopefully i can add benefits to the development of Android so that for Example the Sense UI does not need to be black and green only. \

Updated to work on Leedroid 2.1a

I have reworked the hTc Stock Sense UI, in a carbon fiber, glossy and a bit of dark brushed aluminium look, something sporty and racey. I try to keep alot of black and smoked colors in my theme, as i am told that black and dark colors on an AMOLED screen uses minimal or does not use much power at all.

Blue Carbon sense has been ported to work on Evo hereThanks to barnacles10

What you get:
*tested on Leedroid ROM 1.9

• Blue carbon fiber buttons
• Glassy blue / black /white buttons
• New glassy Icons
• Notification bar in carbon fiber (aluminum added on landscape)
• Super circle battery C
• Transparent pattern lock knobs
• Added some more title bars in carbon, friendstream...etc
• Carbon fiber clock
• New bootscreen thanks to Brightsilence
• glass widgets
• HTC IME Keyboard can be changed using the online kitchen: http://www.gimpsta.com/themer/ ----> currently working on a glass version

Installation :

• Ensure you have already done a full boot if you have just installed a new ROM
• Do Nandroid Backup (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, that's why we NANDROID backup)
• Download and copy zip file to SD card
• Do wipes (no need for factory reset, just dalvik cache and wipe cache) using clockwork
• Install the zip from SD card
• Might take long to boot maybe 10 mins mabe longer but be patient, lots of files to swap around. DO NOT PULL OUT BATTERY WHILE BOOTING.

Let me know if you have any issues or find any bugs

Known issues:

• spacing on htc messages --->fixed
• black on black text in market --->fixed
• zoom buttons on google sky maps misaligned ---> fixed
• Clicking on people favourite in widget covers the contact picture in full blue ---->fixed
• Some widgets ie: messaging, music still has green buttons and input fields ---->fixed
• Other Spacing Issues ---> fixed
• Music FC issue in 1.2a ---> fixed in 1.2b
• Buggy battery readings ---> fixed
• Drag and Drop ---> fixed in 1.3b

I do apologize, I know it is a rough, I haven't textured properly or anything yet. This took me under 30mins to do. Will update it later in the week when its complete,

Thanx everyone for the positive comments, Radical is the bot seems posing with the bottle, it is merely an impression of me being happy, no negativity implied, but if you want to propose any ideas feel free to post here or PM me and i will try my best to create you an icon, avatar, UI, bootanimation, etc.


I will be posting propesed UI for sense I would like to develop here in future. Obviously i am a lover of openSource and will always aim to keep my work free and fair for everyone to use.

New Sense carbon fibre

Hi all i have been tinkering around with the sense ui theme, What i have been playing with are the icons in color (blue or green arrow set) and realistic icons, and the Sense buttons in Green lit up, blue lit up, etc

I have uploaded screenshots if you can tell me which ones appeal more to you, I can upload the .png files for you to use, however i'm not sure how to get them into the ROM yet...I am going to try and replace the original into the apk, and see it that works.

if you want the files just let me know which set you would like and i will upload the zip

They inspired me to want to contribute to the diversity of the Android platform

Like the Jack d robot. Supposed to be boot-screen? so when the bottle is finished, its done booting?

Thanks, I am fond of the blue lit up one too, I will create a screenshot this evening with more of a neon glow on the blue and upload for you

The robot was just something i was toying with, possibly to animate in future, but thats a great idea, it will be a great idea to do a boot animation where he pops out of the screen and downs a bottle of Jack but that will probably come later on

I have played with various bootloader.zip images, but now i wish to challenge the HTC sense UI, maybe offer one in an aluminium/glass finish...Though I cannot for the love of it find the images used for that, maybe with the help of other more experienced developers i can get just the images used in the Sense UI. Later i could even tackle the Vanilla Launcher. Hopefully i can add benefits to the development of Android so that for Example the Sense UI does not need to be black only. I am open to other suggestions too.

Attached here are two 3D Android bots, drinking my fav, but he can do anything you want, you are free to use them as they are my own creations, as long as you just drop a mention to me that you are using them.

I have played a bit more with the blue neon for the sense bar. Please tell me if this is more or less what you had in mind or should i adjust it some more?

In the meanwhile I will create the rest of the skin that goes with it for all the other common apps

1- Theres the Framework.res, which contains the default Android theme/images.

2- Theres the HTC framework, which includes various Sense generic icons/images and the lockscreen.

3- Theres the applications, and included in them are the notification icons, like the ADB icon in PCSCII.apk.

I wish you the best of luck because sense is a maze

Try apk manager: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701

You can use it to unpack apks, edit the images, and then make them apks again.

I dont think system apks require signing...
