AMOLED Burn-in Fix
"Burn-in" is caused by an uneven wear on the screen and can only be reversed when the uneven portions are worn like the rest of the screen.
By using this app you are guaranteed to wear only the status bar and/or navigation bar so the effects of burn-in should be reduced.
Thanks for the OP edit

Is it just the nexus 6 that has problems with this burn in deal? I know Samsung has amoled displays, and I never heard of them getting burned.

This is because samsung does not have navigation bar buttons, and they use a grey background for the status bar.
Because burn-in only occurs on black backgrounds this is not an issue for samsung

I never noticed burn-in on my Galaxy Nexus but if I recall (and it's been a while... I had the Note 2 with hard keys before getting the Nexus 6) the GNex systemui and framework was either blue in ics or grayscale in JellyBean and not the stark black and white of Lollipop so that might be why it wasn't an issue on the GNex. I just got my Nexus 6 and have been casually looking at darker themes to avoid the issue before it becomes one but I've looked through the theme threads and haven't seen anything that just addresses just the soft nav keys and system bar... ie the most likely burn-in potential. I want to stay as stock as possible so I haven't wanted to go with a full-on dark theme... many of which oddly enough keep the white buttons and UI elements anyway.

Wouldn't a simple tweak to just those UI aspects (light gray or even ICS blue vs bright white) reduce the likelihood of burn-in? Or is this somehow a cheaper quality AMOLED screen that's more prone to burn-in? I guess I am a little concerned reading that people are already getting burn-in after two or so months when I never got it in 2 years on my GNex.

The easiest way to avoid burn-in all together is to do exactly what samsung is doing with their ui and use a dark grey background for the status bar & navigation bar.

Changing the colors of the buttons won't help that much.

OK I know nothing about this, hence why I will ask u.If I have a clear Navy bar and I have my status bar hidden on my launcher will that help?

I found this app in the play store called ultimate dynamic Navbar. It will take care of the burn in you can replace the Navbar with one that goes away. Just touch the bottom of the screen and it comes up. I have it and it works great. Ran on this app today and my burn in is completely gone.

Nexus burn in

So I have a Nexus 10 that has a brownish/yellowish hue on the center of the screen. Def appears to be some sort of burn in issue with the screen. Any chance this app might help correct the discoloration on my screen? TIA.
