I think it could be possible to update this to work on bootloader version 5 because jrkruse made a root method for bootloader version 5.
This is nearly the last 7.0 system available. All rev 5 systems are oreo. Other than the combination file. All the roms that have and are popping up o.are based off this firmware version or the brb1.
Yes but only on nougat but not on Oreo or pie but can have safestrap
Yes. Only nougat is bootable due to the bootloader used from the combination file which allows permissive
But yea safestrap can be installed with Oreo or pie and you can flash back and forth. Just depends on what bootloader revision you have. If your on a bit 5 you must always have a bit 5 bootloader. Which the combo file for nougat root has a bit 5.
And the non root able bootloader's for Oreo and pie are also bit 5
Not at the same time no because the ROM slots for safestrap aren't working yet. What they are saying is that you can hop back and forth between a rooted nougat system, a non rooted Oreo system, or a non rooted pie system using safestrap.. just not all at once. You do this by extracting the system .img files of whatever system you want and flashing it via safestrap and the instructions provided in another thread. As of this post right now, ROM slots are not yet working therefore you can't have more than 1 bootable ROM.

Hopefully, I just say be patient. If you think about it, we have come a long way with this device anyway thanks to some amazingly talented devs. Especially more recently with jrkruse and his edl v5 root for the g950u/1. Have a little more patience with the devs.. they're full of surprises

The dropbox link for odin is giving a 429 error, to much traffic. Can you reupload to another host?

You can still download the ROM from Androidfilehost.. the ROM is old and not enough people download the ROM frequently enough for him to continue the link for Dropbox.

Sorry guys my Dropbox keeps having it's public file sharing disabled due to too much traffic, so you will have to stick with androidfilehost for now. If I have some free time later I will try and get everything up in Google drive, as they are actually capable of hosting stuff this popular but afh works just fine in the meantime, I can regularly get 30-50MB/s downloading if I pick a mirror that is close to me (ignore the "first choice" if it's far away, i think they just do super dumbed down load balancing for that), so it should work fine
If those go down for some reason (as has been known to happen with Androidfilehost) let me know (reply to one of my posts or @ me) and I'll try and make something happen faster, but my laptop has been in pieces getting a cooling upgrade (and my new super pimp one isn't setup yet, I'm waiting on Amazon same day to deliver me a screwdriver set with a non stripped t6 bit in it) and doing this from my phone is a pain in the ass, so unless stuff is fully offline it's gonna take me a bit to get redundant file locations up and running again

If you follow the revision 5 edl safestrap installation method. You can then flash this system img

What is "the rvision 5 edl safestrap" ?. I update my phone to 9.0 then now i cant root it. can you help me?
now i cant use my phone. "An error has occurred while updateing the device software. use the emergency recovery fuction in the smart switch pc software" . can not use download or upload mode
