probably referring to being unable to use Odin successfully. i was having same issue while trying both USB 2 and 3 ports and multiples of each on my PC. i was about to give-up when i thought that maybe it was a windows 10 issue. transferred files onto flash drive "borrowed" my mother-in-laws for a few and surprise her windows 7 with USB 2 ports worked perfect. now about the original question, i would also like to know since im wanting to trade in for the S10 Note series but wanted to revert completely back before wiping so that there's no "issues" with the trade-in later down the line that will loose me both my phone and my credit toward new phone. anything is greatly appreciated.

Flash latest stock firmware with latest odin, all is undone. Wrong Odin or firmware is most people's issue
Just to clarify @TheMadScientist if I'm on this current Rom and wanted to upgrade to newest firmware, I just need to flash the newest AP and BL files? Would that also fix my 80% battery?
Depends on what your doing. If you want stock unrooted latest you need to flash all files in odin. Yes that undoes the 80% charge cap limmit. The latest is pie. Obviuosly so you need the new baseband and modems too. So all 4 files. AP bl csc and cp. Need to be flashed so there are no connectivity issues if you just want nougat still then find the latest nougat ap and bootloader since you already have nougat baseband and modems

Either way stock bootloaders will undo the 80% cap. Its implemented in the kernel we need for root. But if you flash all stock files all is undone. Since we cant trip knox. Warranty would still be valid depending on purchase date
Is there a good app/site to download all the files in one place? Or maybe a link to the proper page? I can't seem to find the right ones or at least both sets I've downloaded so far keep coming back as "corrupted and/or incorrect".
Edit- Found sammobile which seems to be great for finding the exact firmware, however im a little (to say the lease) disapointed in the download speed cap. This is going to take forever to finish at my current 50 kbps speed when i have 54.87 mbps download from speed test ran right now. Is there a better site?

stuck on downloanding

OK so got through the first part Loaded the first tar, then hit start. i get a complete(write)operation failed and ive tried different USB ports
Does the device show fused binary or anything also if your on bit 2 and flashing the ap. if you read the instructions. It will fail

So on the device it says fuse blown everything else looks normal. Yes I did read it would fail but it wasnt it supost to go into upload after completing the A tar?
Its been a while. I cant remwmber the exact line of fails and errors. But I know its suposed to error out in several ways and its ok.

OK cool im now getting a fail on the BL not sure what to do to clear it. ive exited im trying a different file just shooting in the dark. its my first root. Im not getting FAIL! SHA256 is invalid

That entirely depends on why it's panicking. Asking that is basically the same thing as asking "how do you fix a car that won't start?". There are literally millions of things that can cause a car to not start, from a dead battery to someone stole the engine, so to answer you would need more information, right?
Luckily with a kernel panic the reason will be right there in the logs. If you can capture logcat when it happens the full exact reason will be right there in the logs. If it's too random for that to be simple I'm sure there are other ways of getting logs but you'd have to ask someone who knows the s4 as I never had that phone

No this is for regular s8. Goto the s8 plus threads and look. This is for v2 boot loader

I had this phone rooted on the v2 (updated from v1) but recently I updated my superSU app and lost root, but xposed was still working. I decided to re flash rom and bootloader but the AP flash hangs at the every end. I watched and entire movie and it did not finished. I originally used usb-c to c then usb-C to usab A 2.0 adapter and then connected the oem cord. When I unplugged my phone and try try to boot back into dowloand mode I get the "error when updating" message. I can then flash the BL and the phones boots fine but kernel panics minutes after boot. I had twrp installed via safestrap (twrp for s8 for locked bootloader) but I think partly flashing the AP and then flashing BL disabled it. Anyway, I trried flashing BL 3 times and always hangs on that last bit. Should I try flashing my stock back up then try to root again?

Okay so now that there has been an exploit found and root achieved on v7 is it safe for me to go ahead and flash this rom? I'm on v7, was running stock 9.0 before flashing a different rom running 7.0.
