V405EBW Open European Pie Update released

Europe pie kdz is now available but there’s no point as we can not flash it..I’m in the UK and my v40 won’t OTA update to pie or get security patches as it’s the Hong Kong version and must be regional locked or something..I purchased mine from amazon uk described as the Germany Europe open but got Hong Kong and only discovered recently it was not proper Europe version device...so I’m stuck.

I think it's still possible to get the update but, might need to wait for such a long time.

Sending mine back..looking at sellers description on Amazon it states it’s the German European open version yet I received the Hong Kong version so I requested a return stating this and they accepted so it’s on its way back and I found a UK online shop selling genuine UK stock LG v40 and it’s £140 cheaper with a free LG Bluetooth speaker so it’s turned out for the better..I hope fingers crossed..don’t get the new one till Tuesday..

I have the same model LM-V405EBW but I from INDIA.Which KDZ should I use as there is no OTA update yet for this phone here.
We have dual sim variant and it has dual VoLTE enabled so can someone confirm which region firmware would work for me?

Hi your stuck with it for now unfortunately..
Currently there is no way to flash the LG V40 with a different KDZ.
As your device is V405EBW You can officially unlock remove OEM boot loader lock and maybe root and go that way.?

As your device is V405EBW You can officially unlock remove OEM boot loader lock and maybe root and go that way.?

Why do we need to root the phone???
Previously I had Lg V30+ H930DS even that phone got updates very late in India so I had flashed Hong Kong region kdz right after it was available on the lg-firmwares website using LGUP tool and it worked as expected.
Later on when the orginal rom was uploaded for IND region I switched back.I believe same should be the case with V405EBW model there are multiple ROM's available for Germany,Poland,Europe,UK but I just wanted to make sure which one would work as I need dual sim VoLTE working as we have unlocked phones here and I don't want to brick my phone by flashing wrong kdz.

I guess there is no option other than waiting for the OTA.I will be selling this and getting the Asus 6z soon LG sucks with their updates.

Yes there’s just no working LGUP as of yet.l

It's this command in cmd;
fastboot flash boot *filename.img*
Works good for latest pie update, may security patch!

bonjour je vien d avoir le lg v40 et j essaie de flasher une mise a jour aussi bien la V20a que la V10e avec lg up mais a chaque fois j ai une erreur a 9% erreur= code x2000 failed flash j ai la version lmv405ebw avec prefix de région SEA donc asiatique et du coup je ne vait pas plus loin que la V10b aucune mise a jour par LG bridge ou autre comment faire pour le passé en v20A est ce que je doit débloqué le chargeur de démarage ou autre ?

Maybe to do with your region of firmware and the region your in..
It was suggested by someone to try downloading update using a VPN

just update my lg v40 which i bought from eBay. it's 10/07/2019 security update. however, i have to update through lg bridge.

Nothing in the UK as yet..well not for me anyway..
