yes, either use Lg Mobile Support Tool to go back to full stock (recovery and rom) or flash TWRP or flash the original recovery which you can find in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554121

Stock Kernel And Recovery

3ways:
1) install a custom recovery like twrp and install the zip file
2)extract the recovery.img from the zip and flash it with adb using the instructions that you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499
3)extract the recovery.img from the zip and flash it using an app called flashify
It seems that the 3rd method doesn't work. I got this error "Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify" too. My g pad tried to boot forever stuck in there, until I plugged it in the usb and was unstuck or something. Then I tried UP/DOWN + POWER key combinations but both failed to boot. By pressing only the POWER button it boots normally back to the ROM.

Any ideas? I really don't wanna mess up with adb, fastboot etc, but it seems that its kinda unavoidable.

ok first of all is that the message you get http://i42.tinypic.com/5n7psj.jpg ? I get this message every time i boot into recovery (i have twrp atm) and it's normal, it means that loki is working. Now about the key combo, it works and you can enter recovery, it's a little tricky though. Keep pressing the vol down (you will keep it pressed down until the end ) and then keep pressing the power button. When the lg logo appears release the power button only for 0.5 or 1 second and then press power and vol up at the same time (so you are actually pressing all 3 buttons). It works, it just need some practice.

Did you actually manage to flash philz touch recovery? What recovery you have now?

In case you want to use adb just download and install minimal adb ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 ) if you dont want to mess with google's sdk tools. Put loki_flash and recovery.img inside the folder where you have installed adb, press shift+right click->open command window here and follow the instructions from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499 . Plz also make sure to replace twrp.lok with the name of the recovery you want to flash, in this situation its recovery.img. Its a very easy process and loki wont let you flash the recovery.img if it isnt suitable for your tablet.

Thank you for the detailed reply (patrioti :D). I am not getting the exact same error with yours.

I am getting this: Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify

Actually I had this error the first time after I flashed the recovery.img with Flashify. After that if I try the above combos, my tablet just displays the LG logo and then turns off.
I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong, but this case is very possible :). Did you try the 3rd method by yourself and worked?

I guess I will have to deal with the adb method soon :D

Edit:

I tried the adb method too. Unfortunately, I got the same error ! Also I got this loki error: http://prntscr.com/2gip3b
Is that normal?
It seems that the .img is being flashed properly but for some reason it won't let it boot into the recovery mode.
I will now check the dev options maybe there is one that blocks it or something..

Edit2:

I just installed TWRP for now. Looks good, so I have a recovery mode :)

I installed philz from twrp recovery as a zip file and then went back to twrp, i havent tried 2nd and 3rd methods but they should work. I installed twrp with adb and other users verified that the flashify app is working so i cant see why they shouldnt work here.

About the loki error in adb did you use the loki_flash from twrp's thread or the one that was included in philz touch zip? I hope that someone else might be able to answer your questions. At least you managed to install a custom recovery!

I used the loki_flash that was included in the philz touch zip - I think so :D

I will tomorrow try installing it via the TWRP recovery then :)

Thanks for all the replies.

maybe I have to update lokify in my zip installer
Also, since my zip installer will lokify the image, if you flash using cwm, ensure you disable auto-loki in settings to avoid the 2x lokifying, if ever possible, not sure how it behaves in that case

Read the FAQ please how I implemented things. The recovery.img in zip is not lokified. It is done during flash through shell script in installer.
That way, unlocked bootloader owners can still use the recovery.img

Ok guys, I flashed the philz CWM zip file via the TWRP and now it works :)

So, I am not sure about why the other 2 ways didn't work, but something was failing to verify something :D

My bad my friend. Phil said in the post above yours that the recovery.img is not lokified and so you cant flash it with adb or flashify atm. Only way is to have a custom recovery already installed and flash as a zip file. My apologies

Ah I see. Well not your mistake, I should have read it by myself.

Besides that I've learnt something, so all good :)

I updated the FAQ to be even more clear:

9- Loki things
Locked bootloader? How to lokify before flashing:
  • In Advanced Menu / Toggle Loki Support : enable auto loki
  • Flash the zip file and you are done

PhilZ Touch recoveries that come in a zip file format AND released after v6.01.2 have a script in the zip to lokify the recovery image during flash even if you are coming from older recoveries or TWRP (thanks @Wootever)

The included recovery.img in the zip is not lokified, it will be lokified during flash

If you are using a new CWM or PhilZ Touch with auto-loki enabled, please disable it before flashing my zip files to avoid any issue with double lokifying, if ever possible!

Unlocked bootloader users can still extract the recovery.img file and restore it from inside recovery:
  • put recovery.img in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/philz_update/recovery.img
  • In Custom Backup and Restore menu, unselect all except recovery
  • validate to browse to the update recovery.img
  • done
