V500 SD card slow / temperamental - ideas?

I have this consistent mild problem across a range of ROM and kernel that when I play media off my SD card it is slow and unreliable. If I simply watch a video from the start and simply watch it I'm fine but if I pause and leave it then resume it takes ages to respond. I've tried reformating both in the device (Android) and on separate device (Windows) and it doesn't seem to fix the issue.

When I access the card on Windows it seems to work fine so I don't think its a bum card, either the V500 unit's slot or just an issue with Android.

I was thinking this might VFAT being an inefficient filesystem and ext4 would be faster but tried formatting to ext4 and Android doesn't recognize and I searched and its because of permissions issues.

Ideas?

I've had issues when playing an mp3 of the card and accessing the gallery. The gallery first gets unresponsive and then crashes. :crying:

Its a class 10 card so it should be able to handle the bandwidth. I have yet to investigate if its a card or device issue.

Have you used the tool SD insight to make sure its a legit SD card? Sounds to me like its a fake. Can get the tool for free off play.

I doubt it is a filesystem issue, although for a while I was thinking that the unmounting problem that several people have had with this tablet was. It would be interesting if you were to run a tool like SD Card Monitor by Ahmed Moharram and see if you are getting any Bad Removals throughout the day...

As was mentioned above it could also be a counterfit card that lies about its true capacity(if it was bought off of ebay from a questionable seller as a possible example).
