Thanks for the great work.
I have a question: These 3 roms are with twrp installed and pree-rooted? If so it could be a problem for me, as I use AlexElec from sd card and apparently twrp does not allow booting from sd.
My device is Mxq s905x 1 / 8gb (I think it's a clone); the box is all black and with only the writing "MXQ" on the top.

edit: I tried to flash the 3 roms, but you can't install any of the three roms, it returns an error at 4%. I also tried the alternate version (post # 355), but to no avail. Also now android 6 stock does not start anymore, the "s905x" logo remains fixed. Fortunately I can start the AlexElec 3.3.1 version via sd
Tomorrow I will post some pictures of the mainboard, maybe someone can give me some advice. Thank you

this happened to me, i had to throw android 6 roms at it untill one finally booted, i suspect it did somting funky to thr partitions maybe, not sure

hmm im not sure maybe try s905w, somone else had sucsess with s905w chip and installing s905w rom, must be the board layout, worth a go

with my vorke z6 plus

I installed [v7] Aidan's ROM [S912] [ATV 9] [LPDDR3] which has the latest android tv launcher etc... but some issues that I need help because
1 - It doesn't transfer the sound to headphone by bluetooth; indeed the rom find the headphone by bluetooth, it is associated and connected but no sound from my headset
2- the cursor of my remote or my remote is not fully compatible with the rom, how to fix the remote control or do I need to buy a new one and which one?
3- how to install Twrp recovery and root those atv rom because I need to patch display led in this atv rom

NB: this post and previous one are the same, I need a android tv rom for my vorke z6 plus which has led display patched, bluetooth and latest google play store, chrome and android home

Dear Aidan if you can add bluetooth fix for the lpddr3 versions and better compatibility for the remote especially the cursor i will appreciate a lot

twrp can be booted from sd card, i dont have any patches, and most of the other patches availible are for android 7 and older, it may be possible to fix with diffrent bluetooth libraries

great Image.
To fix magisk install problem just delete ".backup" folder in boot ramdisk (initrd.img).
Latest Magisk (v22) works. If you need Xposed framework try Riru with Dreamland.

I installed this image on a TX5 Pro (S905X).
It works fine but I can't install Magisk v23.0.

The installation itself (through TWRP) seems to work, but at reboot my box gets stucked at boot logo ("androidtv Aidans's Custom Rom Version 7.4 by Aidan Mcgregor").
I had to reflash the image to get it working again.

After reflashing and checking that my box booted, I started TWRP and using File Manager I found a ".backup" folder in /.
Inside this folder I found two files: ".magisk" and "init".

I deleted this folder and installed Magisk-23.0.zip again, but after this still my box hangs at boot logo

Any suggestion?

honestly not sure, i dont play about with rooting often, just occasionaly to get a log out of the system my goal was to not need root (are you talking about android 9 or 7?)

temporary twrp can be booted from an sd card, find an amlogic twrp zip, some trila nad erro and googling may be beeded

I've been using your Rom on multiple devices for quite a bit. It works great. However, I can't get passthrough sound to work. I thought it was my hardware, but I tried another ROM recently, the Slimbox one and that ROM does allow for S/PDIF passthrough, so it's not the hardware that is the issue I think.

I have an A95x F3 Air.

I installed the firmware ATV-Slimbox 11_6 version. Audio passthrough then works in Plex but not in Jellyfin.

I then installed the 2. [v7.1] Aidan's ROM [S905X3] (A95X F3) FB-Zeyn Elenson ROM, passthrough doesn't work at all, not in Plex, not in Jellyfin. In Plex it refuses to playback at all if the passthrough audio is activated.

Is there something that can be done to troubleshoot this? Can I assist in any way?

probably, but im unsure what, im learning as i go, dont really know what im doing, just been reverse enginering android TV for the last yeay & half and figuring out as i go along, if you find any useful info send it my way, may help in the future

out of curiosity, use rickys tool, unpack to level 1 (will fail level 2 or 3), and copy my logo.partition & system.partition, and then replace mine for the one your rom & repack

unfortunatley there isnt much i can do about this, if you can find another 9.0 rom that works then somthig may be possible
