Verify/Signature failed

I am using
2.3.5 I897UCKJ1
kernel version 2.6.35.7-I897UCKJ1-CL614489

I am trying to update the captivate but every time I try to update I get this:

-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

This happens with every file I try, "Update", CM9, Stock...
Any ideas on how to fix it? I read this sticky http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052991 but someone said they weren't fixes for 2.3.5?

Use TRusselo's "[Guide] How to Flash ANY Captivate ROM from Stock..." that is a Stickied thread in the Q & A forum.

sounds like the md5 checksum on the file is bad and this means the file is corrupted. try downloading the source files again? its weird that it is happening with different files. can you verify the integrity of the files on a pc?

The problem is that he has a Stock Kernel that he is trying to flash a Rom from. He needs to follow the Guide I linked to in my previous post because he needs a Kernel with CWM Recovery baked in. :thumbup:
