I didnt know where else to ask this question and have an answer i could believe.

Anyway, i work for a major university that has a corporate account with Verizon. We get unlimited data and can upgrade every 10 months. To crack down on upgrading for others and just sim swapping they a few months back they started saying you have to wait 30 days before you can sim swap your new devices. Does anyone understand whats going on behind the scenes? They told me if i went back to my old phone and didnt use the new one it wouldn't count for the 30 days. etc.
Just not sure i believe that.
I want to get a new phone, switch to my old one wait 30 days and have a freely sim swap-able phone that's new in box.
Does anyone have info on this.

This looks to me like a security measure.

If someone's device/SIM was stolen or sold, it allows them time to take security measures.

It's hard to explain via text but, I'm surprised that they didn't do this a while ago.

I'm retired from the military and they have a similar policy with their devices but, they give a 90 day grace period.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
However this is not a security measure. This is we feel this is being abused and want to make more money measure. They basically don't white list the phone until your sim has been in it for 30 days. preventing people from buying new phones and giving them to their friends etc.
I just really want to know if the current sim has to be in the phone or it can be in the old phone for 30 days. Any rep i have talked to from my university knows less about it then i do.

Ooooooohhhhhh!

I see what you mean now... LMAO!

I agree with you on that.

I'm just taking a guess... like other prepaid companies (ie, Net10), if you get a 30 day card that comes with 500mb data and then add another with 3gb data, the second one will not be applied until the other 30 day card has lapsed.

Though the above was just one point but, you see what I'm stating..

It still sucks... LOL!
