Thanks for those pics @Bxrider117
Had to go the upsstore today and the verizon next door on Tyvola Rd on my side of Charlotte did not have them in. Told the nicer of the two guys I was interested in seeing the poled screen, explained how I'd heard on xda of the banding and not good quality in the other thread. One guy swooped in on me telling me how I could know or even say that for a phone that hasn't been released yet! I told him that the good verizon stores had demos. What a dummy, HIS store is supposed to have them but they said the google rep could not get any for them.
Yea right. "Believe half of what I see, and none of what I hear......Talkin' `bout my friend George" *Lou Reed
Your pics do give me some assurance that I won't have to send my blk64g 2xl back when it gets here!
I can assure the screen looks really good. I don't like the Pixel wall papers. I always put a picture of my family on the home screen. I will say that I really like the regular Pixel, I'm just afraid of the difference in battery life.

Saw phones at Vz today. Pixel 2 XL felt very light compared to my Pixel XL even with the magnetic charge thingie stuck on back. Not impressed with look and feel compared to original XL. Ran through display options on 2 XL & V30. Didn't notice anything offensive. Very difficult to test in store as phones on short leash and bright florescent lights above.
Comparing XL & 2 XL phone & screen size only thing really different is vertical display size. The 2 XL has additional screen display height about equal to XL nav bar height, so you get a bit more on screen.
After seeing in person I will keep my XL thank you very much. Having recently received XL in exchange for 6p think I'm ahead of the game.

Just came from Verizon store

A few observations. I was not underwhelmed by the display like some have mentioned. When placed side-by-side with my Galaxy S8 they both look great. The Pixel is cooler in terms of temperature than the S8, even when I switched to Cinema and photo mode on my S8 which is supposed to be closer to natural colors and not overly saturated. Bezels look good similar to bezel-less of the the S8. I compared with both displays at max brightness( auto off) and both at 50%.

It obviously felt bigger than my S8, but not something that would prevent me from getting used to it. I like the weight and feel of the exterior, although I got the Panda so not sure if it'll differ. It looks huge next to the smaller Pixel. I'm still excited for mine to arrive after seeing it in person.

I've had every "google" phone since the Nexus 4, save last years Pixel. Got the S8 in April when it launched(first Galaxy since the S2). Touchwiz has come a long way but I don't think anything can keep me from wanting pure android.

Went to a Verizon store today, and I gotta say, I am WAY more excited about this phone now! The screen looked great! I checked it out, out of demo mode, with and without vivid on, and the colors are NOT washed out or anything. It looked better than my S7 Edge to be serial. Stop cancelling your orders! Just wait until your brand new, never touched phone arrives and see for yourself. I think some of the demo phones have been messed with or something. I honestly cannot wait for mine to get here!

Turned vivid off? What does that mean

I really thought about getting the V30 instead, too. Then I thought about Google's promise of same day software updates on Verizon with the pixel, with the freedom of using a local sim when out of the country, and zero Verizon installed apps eventually put me squarely in the Pixel market.

My son NEEDS the headphone jack so he gets the V30 and I get the Pixel XL! While in the Verizon store today I got to play with it and it must be using an older version of the software because I was unable to use portrait mode on the selfie camera. And portait mode on the rear camera was good but not as good as I had seen on some of the YouTube videos. There was no option to update the demo models in the store so I am going to guess that they are using an older version of the software or a "demo" version. Everything else having to do with the phone was AMAZING and I can't wait to get it! I have my preordered and it gets shipped on 10/22.

When I played with it at the store the system tuner was there. I uses it to make the clock disappear. I didn't check for navigation swap.
I work for a VZW retailer and we had google displays put in with Pixel 2s and homes. The sytem ui tuner is still there. Phones are in a demo mode though which locks out a lot of functionality, including access to Developer Options..

Someone asked about whats sold in store, anything sold by VZW or a VZW retailer will definitely be the "vzw locked variant"

Do you know if Verizon will have the panda 128 available?
