So, in applications manager, select show system apps, and I found these three. How would we go about getting into them without root permissions, though? I bet the hiya integrated dialer is tucked away in there somewhere too.

I also found phone maintenance when searching through package disabler I followed the file in essence file explorer and went o install now I am getting errors and forces of the maintenence app

I heard on another thread that Sammy released a universal system file that can be flashed through Odin for the s7 and edge. Idk how long it took them from release, but I hope they do the same for this device and I'll use that to get my phone to Samsung's version instead of Verizon's. I just wander then if wifi calling will still work...

I know this is normally a feature that is turned on by a csc tweak and have not yet verified it yet and I know this is not something Verizon specifically removed but i found the built in call recorder and is able to be turned on.

I did also just find the activity to identify unsaved numbers, hoping it is the Samsung caller id that was removed.

Good stuff! May I ask how you did that? Thanks!

Have you tested this yet? I turned it on, but it hasn't changed anything. Numbers still show as unsaved...

So here are the Samsung features on other variants that the Vzw model excludes.

1. Samsung cloud
2. Settings menu is Vzw not Sammy
3. Ram manager
4. Call recorder
5. Hiya integrated caller ID

Anything else you guys noticed yet?

You guys do know there is a thread on how to get Samsung Cloud to work?
Yeah. I enabled the shortcut, but something is missing. It didn't back everything up and doesn't give me options to add more storage. While I appreciate the workaround, I just don't feel like it's the full experience.

The Hiya integration (Caller-ID/Block) doesn't seems to be on the verizon Note 7, instead Verizon loaded their bloatware version of Hiya that requires subscription. I think this is in the legally grey area and I hope they get fined big time by FCC.
Lol that's so messed up. They overwrite the app with the same exact thing only with a subscription attached to it, which the money from goes directly to them. They shouldn't be able to get away with that.

Use a file explorer and go to /> System> Priv-app. You'll find apks for cloud and other apps.

Anyone know how to reinstall a stock app. I installed the phone app from that priv folder and now my phone app crashes. Learned my lesson, but would like to avoid a factory reset.

I just demanded they credit my account $2.99/mo to compensate and they agreed to it. I have it in writing, haha. I explained how I thought what they were doing was illegal and would complain to the FCC. :)

So I just got my replacement phone yesterday at Verizon. While syncing all my data back onto my phone I came across this nice little app that I never noticed in the Samsung Store called "Hiya" ! This appears to be Samsung's answer to Verizon taking Samsung's baked in Caller ID program and making it into a paid app. I've installed this free "Hiya" app and it DOES in fact show caller ID for ANYONE, whether they are in my contacts or not, when receiving a call! You can also block callers with this app, among other functions. Check it out and download it!!! Enjoy FREE Caller ID as it was meant to be!

    jatle,

I agree wholeheartedly, but at least this is the same program, just not baked in. Still works and is still Free unlike Verizon's version.

No official article, just tweets. But looks like the screen is different too.

Thanks for the link. Personally, I'm not going to worry about it. Does it suck yea. Am I going to return my phone or or leave Verizon? *sign* No....
