I didn't order during the glitch, but I ordered on the 3rd line (basic $10/month) with intentions swapping yo my main line unlimited data, and wanted to share the process that worked for me.

The phone came with pre installed SIM. Called the number on the "activation guide" and activated the phone on my 3rd line. Signed out then back into Verizon's website to see the Note 3 activated. Then I chose to switch a device. Put my old basic phone onto the 3rd line, it made me choose a data plan, chose 75mb $10 ( I'll get back to this). Signed out and back in to see everything update properly on the website.

Removed the pre installed SIM card VERY carefully with a small pair of pliers. Installed the SIM from my main line (unlimited data) and activated right away.

All is well, kept my unlimited data. Called Verizon right away. Gave them my 3rd line number, I asked right away that I needed the data added to my 3rd line removed. With a little chuckle like he'd already done it 15 times today said "No problem at all. How do you like your Note 3?" Overall the process was painless and Verizon was actually helpful. If you follow the steps right you'll be rocking a half priced Note 3 with unlimited data Iin no time :)

I pre-ordered on 9/6. I had an upgrade on one of my unlimited data lines (I have 5 lines total with 3 unlimited). I swapped the upgrade to a 2gb data line and completed the order. Two days ago I received an email from VZW that my order was on hold... immediately followed by one stating that the order had been cancelled. I again pre-ordered in the same manner as the first time (this time paying with a credit card rather than having it automatically charge my account). The order went through fine. My Note 3 shipped and is due to be delivered today...

In the meantime, I had replied to the "cancelled order" asking why my order had been cancelled. Today I received an email from VZW stating "Your order was placed on a cancellation status due to compatibility issues with the device and your current price plan. Please resubmit this order."

I'm HIGHLY irritated by VZW, but glad that I went ahead and pre-ordered again. I checked the tracking and my Note 3 is on the truck for delivery. I'm wondering if VZW will try to remove the unlimited data on my other phone line... I'll let you all know the results when I find out myself.

As I mentioned above and to keep everyone informed, NFC is built into the phone's battery. You will see "Near Field Communication" printed on the side of the battery that faces outwards when installed in the phone.

The NFC SIM card has nothing to do with regular NFC applications. So the only thing you won't be able to do without an NFC SIM card is make use of ISIS. Everything else works just fine!
It actually just the NFC antenna built into the batter. For all intents and purposes it's the same thing however.

FedEx and Verizon are both getting on my nerves. I know they said the package has to be signed for and delivered to the address but I put a note on my door this morning asking if they could just have my neighbor sign for it and leave it there. The guy didn't even try and left. Now I have to drive there and pick it because I'm not waiting until tomorrow. PITA

I'm absolutely going to kill Verizon now. I can't even pick up the phone at FedEx tonight so I have to wait another day now to get the phone. FML

Sorry man. I left a note to leave it with my neighbor too, I pasted a big FedEx logo on the paper so he wouldn't miss it. It's with my neighbor now, gonna pick it up in about half an hour. I feel your frustration...

Received my Note 3 this morning, activated it and was switched to the 2gb plan. Called 611 and they would not honor their end of the bargain. Stating that anyone who upgraded and kept their unlimited plan were mistaken. Any ideas?

I did just that. My delivery guy is just an A$$. I took a big paper, wrote FedEX very huge on it with the address to the neighbor and I think he didn't even try as he said I wasn't home. Give me a break. I'm pissed. Waited for this day and now have to wait until tomorrow. UPS would have done this as they've done it several times in the past.

Opened my box and noticed no sim card in the envelope so I pulled my sim from my old phone to put in the new and the sim card was already installed. I guess Verizon opened mine and put the sim in ? I did notice the plastic on the back was pulled back a bit.
Now it's just sitting on activating for the last 5 min's. I'm wondering if I should pull this sim out and out my old one in ?

I wouldn't mess with it now, but I activated using my old SIM that went with me from GNex to GN2 and it worked fine, my Verizon has updated and still shows unlimited and the note 3

I would call and would NOT give up until they reinstated my unlimited plan. Stand your ground!

... now to see how my activation goes. It's a whole lot easier to tell someone else to be tough
