I missed all the shenanigans in the other thread .. was sorry to see it go. Thought we were all having a good time, but some folks just take things too far I guess.

Still nothing on my end as far as a CC charge ... but I did go to an AT&T store and drool over play with their display N3! Probably not the best idea as now I am bursting at the seems to get mine!! DAMN YOU VERIZON!!!!!!!
Lmfao

Well poop on a shoe! I canceled my first order to jump on the "keep unlimited data" train ... So I'll most likely be on the tail end of the shipping. Oh well... At least I got my unlimited data :D:p

Hey guys. I'm a relatively new Android person and while I had someone unlock my note 2 and root it, I don't have access to him anymore. Forgive my ignorance, BUT, is rooting the device dependent on unlocking the boot loader? I know the S4 is locked down. IF and a BIG IF Verizon locks it down for us, is root still achievable? I am not so educated with the processes. Thanks!

You can have root with a locked bootloader ... But I understand this KNOX Samsung has incorporated may make even root difficult :(

Thanks yank. Hopefully the xda gurus surprise us like the op. I'm using an LG g2 right now as a rental and it's actually great. I will keep it if note 3 can't be rooted. Fingers crossed

Yeah, I'm hoping we get at least root! I can go without custom ROMs/kernels, but there are some root apps that I would sorely miss!!

As someone who preordered within the first 10 minutes they started, nonsense.

Of course it is. This is the same guy who claimed it would be shipped out Sunday. Oh...he also claims to have an unlocked fw. I hear he has a bridge for sale too:rolleyes:
Let's not filet the OP just because, that's how the other thread went off the rails. From the people I do know (not the $/hr type) you're looking at what has been posted a little, around the 8th to arrive by wide release on the 10th. No big surprises. Let's just let the whole ship early thing go...

What's the point of being a D bag? The OP gave us information he received, it didn't work out big deal. I'm sure you dad promised you ice cream many times and didn't deliver... it was worth while because when you finally got that ice cream it was amazing.. Just chill and relax and treat him the same as everyone else who gets told a bunch of bad information from Verizon...

This kind of stuff is killing me... I can't wait till we get a real confirmation.

What's a warehouse phase?!?!? Tell me they are on the trucks!
As I'm not a Verizon employee I can't say for sure, but a reasonable guess is that the first tier of the Note 3s are being staged for shipping. Thus, the tier 2 customer service rep was going to have to a "manual order cancel". This could literally mean someone has to pull that phone off Verizon warehouse pallet somewhere in Texas as we type.

It takes one rotten apple to ruin it for the bunch. Same goes for crabs like @suzook..... It was fun while it lasted.

Here's to hoping you're right, though.

Anticipation sucks.
