Root gives performance issues??
Do have an odd question though. After getting it to flash the .TAR I noticed a "tornado" looking icon in the notification bar by the clock, as well as VO LTE symole now show up. What is this Tornado symbol?

so it worked?
Yes, changing ports fixed the issues

Reverse This?

I'm super new to rooting, so if something went wrong or I decided to remove it, would I be able to restore ALL factory defaults? And how would I go about doing that? Also, if I rooted then uprooted, would Samsung Pay be available again? I have an AT&T Snapdragon S7 edge if that matters.

Any stable? Or official?

I got my s7 edge verizon, about a week ago, and I decided to wait a while, but I'm starting to lose patience, and root using the unstable method, some one please redirect me somewhere.

Please I need help reverting the Odin step. I thought that by mount it meant to flash the file in the AP section and when I did it the phone is now bootlooping on the verizon logo. Anyone know how to revert that step or what file I need to flash to revert it?

I'm curious. Has anyone rooted and tried the Gear VR? Any issues? I love having root but I bought this overly expensive phone mostly for the VR capabilities so if root messes with that it wont be worth it for me. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Question, after flashing the eng kernel, is there a way to enable usb debugging without going into phone settings?

Here ismy dilemma:

I purchased a S7E on Offerup that is Google locked for 150$... However, it is on PH1 so I cannot downgrade and known FRP bypass methods are patched on PH1...

I can use the realterm method to get into the browser, sign in to Samsung account and download es file explorer and quickshortcut maker. All frp bypass apks force close when you try to run them.

I can get into settings via quickshortcut maker but it does not allow me to enable developer mode/usb debugging...

Heres what I want to try:

1) Odin the eng boot
2) Somehow enable usb debugging
3) Push root files via ADB
4) Open ES File Explorer (or other root explorer) with root access, disable google somehow (maybe remove the setup wizard...) or install Flashfire or figure something out once root is achieved?)

Any help with this endeavor would be appreciated.. I am trying to avoid paying someone with the hardware to bypass the frp as it cuts into my resell profit lol

I'm not being funny real business.. I thought if USB debugging wasn't enabled Odin wouldn't recognize the device to flash the eng kernel?

u can flash the eng kernel regardless since it is a signed odin tar.. however you do typically need to adb by turning it on in the developer settings.. then again i am not sure why the eng kernel wouldnt have usb debugging on by default since it is an eng kernel?

of course if you want to flash unsigned tars you need to oem unlock (unlock the BL) the device..

essentially i just wonder if root is possible without going into the phone to enable dev options/usb debugging.. if it can, i can probably get ff to install using a root explorer and then flash echo or similar rom and then be able to bypass frp as itll have an older firmware/security patch?

Can the bootloader be unlocked on this phone? Is it necessary for it to be unlocked in order for it to root?

Does rooting this phone affect performance and battery life negatively? I'm only interested in rooting this phone to flash ROMs, delete bloatware, and have better backups.

Stuck on root.bat

Hey Guys, I am getting stuck on the root.bat step. the first time i tried it it seemed to be working (said some stuff that sounded positive) but my phone did not reboot. I tried it again and now all it is saying when i type root.bat is wait-for-device. I do have usb debugging turned on.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Did a quick thread search and didn't find anything about this:

Wifi keeps turning off on it's own. Anyone experience this and/or have a fix?
I did the wifi fix and phone keeps my passwords. This is in regards to wifi simply turning off during use or upon restart.

Apologies but no it literally is not.

As I said, "I did the wifi fix and phone keeps my passwords. This is in regards to wifi simply turning off during use or upon restart."

I did the build.prop fix and phone now keeps passwords upon restart.

But I am not referring to losing my wifi passwords... I am referring to Wifi disabling itself during use.
