Apologies but no it literally is not.

As I said, "I did the wifi fix and phone keeps my passwords. This is in regards to wifi simply turning off during use or upon restart."

I did the build.prop fix and phone now keeps passwords upon restart.

But I am not referring to losing my wifi passwords... I am referring to Wifi disabling itself during use.
it should be the same fix.. but sorry, i reread your comment and i misread it lol, so it is not in the OP

Hi,

I'm trying to root my US Verizon Galaxy S7 following this guide. I'm stuck on step 3. I click AP, select the .TAR file, hit Start, and get this log output:
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<ID:0/004> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/004> Initialzation..
<ID:0/004> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/004> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/004> SingleDownload.
<ID:0/004> boot.img
<ID:0/004> RQT_CLOSE !!
<ID:0/004>
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

what tar are you using? you need the G930 tar file on the S7.. not the G935 as that is for the edge variant

Its been a while since i have did any research on rooting the galaxy s7 edge. The last time i tried rooting the s7 edge the method envolved using an engineers kernel and there was some overheating, lower battery performance and some other issues. Can anyone tell me if there is a better root method without all these issues ?

Sent from my SM-G935V using XDA-Developers mobile app

Not currently, no. Until (if it even happens) the bootloader is unlocked we are stuck using this.

My Odin is not detecting My Verizon S7 Edge, and the phone is already in download mode, any ideas? Running Windows 10, and my S7 edge is running most current updated sofware,

Not sure if anyone has run into this at all but all help is appreciated. I rooted my unlocked g930u. Its on the latest firmware for the unlocked variant. I installed my Verizon sim card and a message popped up saying g it had to restart to download carrier specific features. When it reboots, it reboots into recovery mode and gives me a DRM has failed message. I'm not sure why this is attached to the sim card because if I restart the phone wothpout a sim, I can use it normally. Thanks guys

Gotta say, I've had 2 HTC phones and 2 Samsung phones and this method to root was the easiest by far...thanks @Argyrus.

Is it still not recommended to update the SU binary because I still get that nag when I reboot?

The OP needs to update the SU binary image in the link, then you wont get nag

You can update the binary when prompted. It will fail, at which point you can reboot the phone and the nag will be gone. I can personally vouch for this.
Thanks for the confirmation.
Edit: I've now installed a custom rom and got the su nag, rebooted to update the binary and it's back. Hopefully we'll get this worked out eventually.

Scratch that...it hasn't came back after a couple of reboots so maybe it was still working out with the new install of a new rom.
