Would love to know what you did
If you do get the time, I would appreciate a tutorial: I bought the new actual unlocked device so am kinda "itching" to root it. :) Am glad we can reflash original firmware if things go south as well.
That would be great, dude!

I followed the steps and have all the problems associate with root. But SU is not working. Root checker shows app installed but no root access.

I have followed the steps 3 times now.

Any ideas?
That happened to me. I did afactory reset and re-did everything. Also got the files for Verizon gs7.
When I first did, I was using the the files from the AT&T when it was first talked about ect.

I used the files from this thread and it worked. I had the same issue which where using the AT&T files. For some reason I wasn't not rooted. Then I did a factory reset and files from this thread and I'm rooted.

Before I will make plans to root my phone sometime soon, has the issue with Samsung Pay not working while rooted been resolved yet?

You can use android pay still I believe..I don't have a card to set up but the app let's me open it where samsung pay does not.

Aw darn. It's pretty stupid that Android Pay doesn't accept a lot of cards, and Samsung Pay actually accepted one of my credit cards. I don't see why there isn't an Xposed mod that can be a workaround.

I discovered that as well but didn't actually try a real transaction.

Try safetynet app: it will alert you if Android or Samsung pay will work beforehand. The screen shot is of working rooted Nexus 6P.

I'm glad to see a Verizon root method has finally been achieved. Having upgraded from a rooted Droid Mini to a non-rooted 7 Edge a few months ago, I've been missing it something fierce.

However, when it comes to this stuff, I'm incredibly dumb. So, would someone mind giving me a complete, very dumbed-down/noob-friendly walkthrough for how to root and install xposed, including any fixes for all known issues and how to get the best performance out of it?
