I followed the guide exactly as described and it installed supersu, but I still don't have root. Could it be because I'm not on the latest software update?

I have that problem too, and I also cant send sms properly.

Figured it out. I wiped/flashed stock firmware PE1 and then went through setup. Then went through the full root process and it finds Verizon just fine after each reboot. That was about to be a super annoying problem to have.

I've come across another annoyance. Apps take FOREVER to install.
