I have all these fixes in my rom I made already. Running good so far. Gonna run it hard for a little before uploading. I'm using vzw software and I don't have lag. I didn't build nine off of U build. Gonna do a seperate rom for that as its stripped of everything. I like everything to function on my roms. If they can atleast

I'll admin even after a complete flash back to stock, then rooting it and apply the V2 zip in this thread I still have a slight lag, but I had a slight lag with the phone before I rooted it.

Hopefully when roms become available I won't have any lag.

Eagerly awaiting your 935U rom. :) Personally I find the PEH universal build runs smoother / has better battery life than the PE1 Verizon build.
I agree 100%

It's probably not a good idea because of the subtle differences with the apk's.

Open flashfire, hit the +, select flash zip/ota,select the zip, hit the check mark and then scroll down to flash.

I was trying to avoid using adb lol. Street spending 8 hours at work, I hate seeing code some days
I flashed it on the PEH universal firmware and it caused a bootloop, so it only works on Verizon firmware.
Yea so I can confirm that flashing the zip while running the U firmware will bootloop your device.

However the files contained in the zip are needed to get Verizon functions working properly on the U firmware. Or I should say they simplify things so you don't have to manually edit the CSC file.

I extracted the zip and pulled the system folder onto the phone after I had flashed the U firmware and rooted. That system folder contains the CSC file and the ims apk. Using root explorer I took the CSC file and imported it into the proper place overwriting the original file. I then took the ims apk included and imported it into its proper place, which overwrites the original ims file that's already there. The only other thing I had to do was change the one setting in the build.prop which fixed the wifi password saving function and I was done.

I'm now running the U firmware with all Verizon functions fully operational. And my phone is blazing fast, rooted, stable, and getting great battery life.

Remember, you still have to change the CPU settings to interactive or ondemand or your phone will suck. I use interactive and am getting great results.

Here is a zip that can be flashed with flashfire
It fixes
Searching For Service
Gets Rid Of Volte Icon in status bar
Fixes Hotspot tethering
Fixes Wifi paswwords not saving
Adds call recording
Adds call Message blocking
Enable Scheduled Message plus alot more
Removes Knox
Removes Verizon Apps
Removes Amazon Apps
Removes Google Apps that can be downloaded without loss of function
Thank you for you work!

Unfortunately, I use/need some of the apps you debloat. Any chance you could modify the zip not to debloat? The fixes in one zip and debloat in the another?

Removes Knox
Removes Verizon Apps
Removes Amazon Apps
Removes Google Apps that can be downloaded without loss of function

Really appreciate your help!

Can you elaborate on how great your battery life is? I'm also running rooted U firmware with xposed mods like adblock and xtouchwiz, and I feel like i'm getting worse SOT. I used like 25% per hour at about max brightness playing game/s. So about 4 hours SOT at max brightness, which I feel like worse than stock. I can't be sure though.

I posted the csc and build prop edits for the U firmware in a flashable zip two days ago here. The only thing I didn't try was to get WiFi calling working. Everything seems to be working fine for me. I like the VoLTE icon so I don't bother with the other mod. I uninstalled Kernel Adiutor and set the animation and duration scales to .05 per @jrkruse suggestions in his ROM thread. That seems to work fine for me. Thanks for the info though. I agree this firmware works the best.

Can you verify that using said approach fixes Wifi calling on the U firmware as well? I've been testing and trying to get that to work, to no avail thus far.

I am getting between 5 to 6 hours sot with medium to heavy usage. I use greenify, amplify, and forcedoze to assist with my deep sleep.

I had no idea there was a zip already created. Thanks for that! Quick question: did you make all the changes that jrkruse made in his original CSC file included in his zip? That's the file i used and it has worked great for me. If you recreated your zip to include the ims.apk hack that zip would be super beneficial for those looking to get all the cool hacks in one place. Also why would you uninstall kernel adiutor? I'll have to go read up what the reasoning is behind that. I use it and it works flawlessly. Of course turning animations to .5 is a must, but i always do that on every phone. Always helps.

One more thing.... you like that volte icon?!?!?! ?

I noticed that battery life on U was awesome until it was rooted. Engineering kernel used to get rood is not optimized...
I would have to disagree with you. While the kernel might not be optimized, I am getting great battery life. The settings I chose to use were interactive governor (CPU), deadline (I/O scheduler), and Reno (IP congestion). Super smooth and battery life is great.

This I have not verified. I never use Wi-Fi calling so I have no experience in testing this feature.

No, I only included the mods to turn on HD Voice and fix the WiFi password bug. As for the ims.apk I don't know what to mod so I'll leave that one alone. I've ben out of the "root loop" for quite some time and haven't gotten back into messing with the apks as of yet. I uninstaled kernel adiutor to see if it made a big difference and for me the animation edit did it. And yes as strange as it sounds I like the VoLTE icon

Hey bro are you still on the U firmware? If so, go to the guide I created and try out the files under part 3. I want to see if that CSC file fixes your wifi calling issue.

I had tried that already before, and no it doesn't quite work. There's more to it than just the CSC in this case. There's also an APK called VoWifiSPG that's on the Verizon variant. This contains part of the menu system for voice over wifi and some functions. I deodexed the file and pushed it and have tinkered a bit, but something is still missing. Upon going to Advanced Calling -> Activate Wi-Fi Calling it puts up a spinner "This may take a few moments..." After about a minute this times out and returns "Unable to activate WiFi Calling at this time. Please try again later."

It's likely something like a lib, or a service or something missing. I'm running through the logcats now to see if I can't find out where it's failing.
