Hey everyone! Of course, please only perform this mod at your own risk (also please bear in mind I'm new at this)!

Anyway, I put together six recovery-flashable ZIP files in case you're a Verizon user on B29 Marshmallow or B15/B19/B25 Nougat who wants to modify the status bar to look more like it would with an actual Verizon phone. The ZIPs do the following:

  • Remove Roaming Icon From View
  • Add Verizon's typical "4G LTE" icon in place of the stock "LTE" icon, except on B29 ZIPs the GSM/LTE icon is unchanged
  • Remove the NFC icon, which is just my taste I guess
  • Remove the disabled SIM icon when dual SIM users disable one or the other SIM
  • On the Nougat ZIPs, the HSPA+/UMTS icon is changed to '3G' instead of '4G'...again this is just my taste as HSPA+ should really be 3G IMO
  • On the Nougat B19/B25 ZIPs, the CDMA EvDO icon has been changed to read 3G in Verizon's style, and the LTE/CDMA icon has been changed to have a "1XRTT" indication when VoLTE is not being used and calls are being routed over 1X. GSM 3G is unchanged, except on the B19 files which replace it with Verizon's standard 3G icon plus the letters "HSPA" (see below).

Depending on preference, I've provided two ZIPs for each build - one will remove the carrier label from the status bar left (but not on the lockscreen or notification pulldown) whereas the other will leave the carrier label as-is.

I've tested the Marshmallow ZIPs on my A2017U with Build 29 and also the Nougat B15/B19/B25 ZIPs with the recent Stock Nougat updates and everything is working just fine flashing from TWRP. BUT BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR STOCK SYSTEMUI_ZTE.APK FILE FOUND IN /system/priv-app/SystemUI_ZTE . This file will be replaced/overwritten by the one in the ZIP (this is all the ZIP does, actually). If you don't wish to flash the ZIP file, it'll also work to just extract the "SystemUI_ZTE.apk" found in the /system/priv-app/SystemUI_ZTE/ folder of the ZIP file and manually place it in the appropriate place using Root Explorer or similar (be sure to set 0644 permissions as well).

Screenshots are attached...these are all done with "Large" display size setting in Nougat 7.1.1 though so if you are using the default display size setting the icons will appear a bit smaller.

Here are links to the flashable ZIPs:
SystemUI mod with Carrier (NOUGAT STOCK BUILD 25 ONLY)
SystemUI mod without Carrier (NOUGAT STOCK BUILD 25 ONLY)
SystemUI mod with Carrier (NOUGAT STOCK BUILD 19 ONLY)
SystemUI mod without Carrier (NOUGAT STOCK BUILD 19 ONLY)
SystemUI mod with Carrier (NOUGAT STOCK BUILD 15 ONLY)
SystemUI mod without Carrier (NOUGAT STOCK BUILD 15 ONLY)
SystemUI mod with Carrier (MARSHMALLOW STOCK BUILD 29 ONLY)
SystemUI mod without Carrier (MARSHMALLOW STOCK BUILD 29 ONLY)

Source files are just normal B29 SystemUI_ZTE.apk modded in APKTool...and the stock B15/B19 Nougat SystemUI_ZTE.apk also modded in APKTool. The flashable ZIP template I used was from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638542.
