OK, it's been a while since I've updated my Xoom. I'm currently running eos 4, what's the best way to get this going instead? Thanks!

I was up at 2 AM last night and flipped on the Xoom (Verizon) to find the update ready to go. So far it's running very well, and the tablet feels much more responsive now that it has been smoothed over with "butter" :D.

Complaints so far

Wiped my XOOM and put it completely back to factory, unrooted, locked state... just like it was when I bought it 2.5 years ago. Used Motorola's factory restore images.

After all the OS updates completed:
Google+ does not work properly. - Verizon/Motorola didn't bother to put it in as a system app (due to space probably), so the "Location" feature has a blank map. Have to root, then shuffle stuff out of system to user space so you can fit Google+ as system app to work properly.

Hangouts FC on me when I try to do video chats.

Also, notice new modem firmware seems to be in love with 3G (CDMA) mode. So far it hasn't been showing 4G (LTE) except a couple of brief moments.

Oh well... guess I'll load up CM10.1 nightlies again so I can get back the Android 4.2.2 goodies like photosphere and daydream.

Does boot loader have to be locked and unrooted to take update !!!

Your bootloader can be unlocked and you can be rooted, but you must be running the stock ROM and kernel with absolutely no modifications.

Then you're running a custom recovery. OTAs won't auto flash in a custom recovery. You can either restore stock recovery or you can flash the file manually in your custom recovery. Download the file at http://android.clients.google.com/p...signed-trygon-JZO54M-from-IMM76L.bfd5cc10.zip.
