Have you tried putting the phone into download mode before plugging it in? I recall having this issue way back for the Galaxy S II.

Hi,
just a few questions cause i am new to the whole USA AT&T-Verizon-Tmobile system. I live in Europe.
I just got a SG-930V, the guy who sold it to me claimed he "rooted" and "unlocked" the phone. It is not rooted as i found out and the Firmware was a weird version (G930VXXS4BQC1 - Android 7.0) Anyway i think i managed to odin flash this latest Verizon Oreo Firmware.

My questions is:
Which of the whole AT&T -Verizon-Tmobile Firmware works best with other SIM cards?
I still get a message when opening the phone that i do not have a Verizon SIM card does it affect the phone in anyway? (For some reason i cannot enter the Network operators area in the mobile networks settings)

How would I go about using this if I'm on 6.0.1 with an engineer-rooted bootloader? Do I need to install an Oreo bootloader first? Where would I get that? I previously followed this method 2 years ago to root my phone and am now just trying to get it updated without bricking it. I don't care too much about root.

Thanks!

Can someone point me in the right direction? I purchased a phone off Amazon and the listing said that it was a Verizon S7 with the model number of SM-G930V. It has this on the back of the phone along with a Verizon logo. When I check the "About Phone" section under settings, the model number is listed as SM-G930U. I guess this is an unlocked software of some sort and since it is unlocked, I cannot activate Wi-Fi/Advanced Calling. I would like to know if it is safe to flash this image on my phone. This phone is for my mom and I'm not looking to root. I just want to be able to enable calls over Wi-Fi. TIA
