Yeah I have the latest update and it's like the haptic almost squeaks while typing. Ugh, I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with sending it back if it just happened to be the norm.
Also are you using Bluetooth because I have it connected to my Moto 360 2 which might be the difference in battery life
Updated mine with the update and not the 2nd phone. Haptic feedback still operational but no noises other than the slight hum you hear with holding anything with a vibration mode. (normal)
Certainly don't hear anything that might be described as squeaks or rattles. :/
Don't sweat it though. If ya rma it they're pretty fair, though I wouldn't let them talk you into any extended responses to allow them passed the 15 day return window. I'm a firm believer that return windows should be 1-2 months. There's just no way to fully vet a piece of hardware in 15 days unless that's all you're doing. (but most people have a job to go to)
Also with the rma they pay for shipping. I myself though turned my rma into a return for the speaker crackle and am just going to buy it from amazon. It's here in the US already and prime allows for more. Assurant is offering extended warranties as well for 162$ and 99 deductible. (though I think Upsie is cheaper; not familiar with either experience in the event of a warranty claim unfortunately)
And I have not used enough bluetooth yet on the device to be a good response for ya. Sorry. Only connected to a headset and keyboard/mouse the other to test connectivity, so I've yet to discover how it does with lengthy connection sessions.
