Video .gif maker??

I made about 20 gifs yesterday from videos. Got done and went to text one to my fiance it and it failed. Reason....it was 9mb. I thought the idea behind this was to be able to text them? What goes is a gif other than for texting or forums?

Can they be sized differently?

I make gifs all the time, And send them without any trouble, maybe you carrier has something to do with it
