It would have been nice to have you around the SGS3 forum...

Sent from my SPH-L710 stock_rooted!
You never know. I've been flashing a few Roms on the SGS3's. Plus I've already done an unreleased mod for my bud.

Mine slipped and slided on a gravel road, not hard mind you, --- back casing flew off and then the phone screen skitched out..also when you tap the phone--- it vibrates from the inside out.
an SGS3 would be nicer..but hey, they gaveme a free upgrade..though to have the htc evo shift...knowing it is technically a downgrade..
might fix some other issues.seems though there are some developments of good ROMs recently..or are we still newSense (my favorite thus far)..but I've been curious about Supreme Sense ^_^
Flash away if you get the chance

Problem with radios

Hi I know this is an older thread but the links are gone for the section on updating the radios. I succesfully completed the guide for the downgrade root but now I can not text or make calls. Im not sure if this is because of the radio issues? I could use some help getting this going. Please halp me asap. Thank you.

Did you fully complete the process ? What Recovery are you using ? What Rom did you Flash ? If you did flash a Rom, did you do a Full Wipe before Flashing the Rom like the Guide in my Signature suggests ? Have you Updated your PRL / Profile ? Also the links in the Second Post of the Radios thread work. Make sure you read, and understand the OP before doing anything.

Prboy, I appreciate the quick response. I did complete the process. I did not see that second post but I have since found it and have everything done. I did change some of my settings in the phones data profile and that caused the issue. I just flashed JellyBelly v.3 to the phone and it seems pretty cool. Thanks to VICODAN for an awesome guide.
I flashed this shift to PagePlus and that is my reason for rooting to try and getting my data and mms working. All this to get the MSL number of my phone. I tried a few things and that messed up my phone. I did *228 and that fixed the issue. If anyone has any helpful guides to get my data and mms going on page plus I would appreciate some help in that area. Again thank you for trying to help me.

just an FYI the following part of the tutorial hits a road block (the files were removed and or the link's dead

You will be on older radios after rooting. Download the ZIP with the most recent radios, WiMAX, and touchscreen firmware from HERE or HERE.
Instructions to update:
Anyone know where i can get the most recent radios, WiMAX, and touchscreen firmware?

Hi all! I'm new here and I could use some help. I started using Vicodan's quide to 'root' my HTC Evo Sfift 4g (2.3.4) yesterday, an yes I realize there is an Update after searching around for a solution to my problem. I've successfully unlocked the bootloader , but before I could complete the steps (6 and 7) I had to disconnect and attend to a family emergency. Now I don't know what steps I need to do to complete the process. My phone powers up normally and is fully functional. I can connect it a Windows box and 'adb' sees the device and I can successfully issue 'adb reboot bootloader' to get to the bootloader screen. After that, I really have no clue.
Any and all help is deeply appreciated. TY

As a side note, I hate having to do this through a Winblows box. I haven't used the O/S since 1999. I've been using Linux since that time and am currently running Debian on my ThinkPad. :)

On your PC. The location is in the OP. Please read the entire post.
hey dont forget though. if you are running an older version of the Platform-Tools installer, it would be installed to the "Application Data\Android" folder for XP, and "AppData\Local\Android" for Vista/7/8. This is especially true if during install you chose from two options:

_ Install for Everyone
X Install for Just Me.

Have you watched the videos?

OK this weekend, redoing the original post.

this is the complete archive of the Shift-Rootkit, but i have added all the required files based on your phone being stock updated to 2.3.4. it includes all the necessary files already downloaded from other sites, credit to the OP and the other developers for FREVO and VISIONary+ and the other tools used for the EVO Shift 4G rooting. i figured an easier way to download them would be to load them here to XDA and not have to worry about the mediafire and other sites removing links and otherwise NOT being available as we have ALL seen before.

A WORD OF ADVICE... make sure to follow the 1st post to the letter or your ***ABSOLUTELY WILL*** brick your phone.

If you guys have any problems, please ask me, VICODAN, or any other members that have a lot of knowledge on this stuff. I personally don't mind. Just PM me whenever you have a question.

anyhow, here it is. Grab the attached ZIP file and download it. I won't be hosting a mirror, so this is the only place to get the archive. its in a ZIP format so there is no BS format. :D

Thanks!!

(P.S. - I could not include the PG06IMG file for the wimax and radio(MDM9k) because it was too big. that will be attachment #2)

EDIT: Currently i cannot upload on XDA.. To Be Continued on Dev-Host later when i get back in town. expect the file to be uploaded either today or tomorrow. thanks!

EDIT #2: THE FILES ARE NOW ONLINE AT DEV-HOST. anyone who needs the rootkit and files can grab them from my dev-host account. Here is the link:

===============================================================

Click here for the Complete Rootkit.

Click here for the Hboot Flashable radio updates for mdm9k(cellular radio) and wimax.

For questions on what version of the radio you are flashing, refer to the first post. Please do not ask me anything thats already here for reference. You know the rules... no senseless postings. lol.

Thank you for the reply to my post. I've been away and just got back home this afternoon. Anyway, to answer your question, yes, I did watch the videos. Actually, several times. Good news is I was able to figure out what I needed to do and have successfully rooted my phone. :)
I flashed the UKE ROM and tried it for a while, was beginning to like it when I started to see some bugs I was not comfortable with. So I wiped the phone again and flashed the Supreme Sense ROM and am so far quite happy with it. The only problem I'm seeing so far is a failure to be able to make a Bluetooth connection with my BlueAnt Sense Car Speakerphone. Have'nt had time to search around for a bug report or possible fix, but I'll start lookng soon.
Again I thank you for replying and also for the 'quide' that got me 'rooted'. LOL!

Glad your all Rooted, and sorted. Yes VICODAN's Guide is a great help :) . As for your BT issues on Supreme. I'll ask you one question here. But it would be better to post up on the Rom Thread. Just to keep things better organized. Did you do a Full Wipe before Flashing ? Like described in the Link in my Sig.

Thanks for trying to help me out. Yes, I did a full wipe as you described in your Link, but I did not repeat the steps 3x as you recommended. I'll try your way and se if that helps to resolve the issue. TA. :)

Addendum: If you want to move this to the ROM Thread, do so, or tell me how to do so.

I cannot move this to the Rom Thread. But if your issue does not get resolved after a Full Wipe, and Flash. You can post up on the Rom thread HERE for more help to resolve it ;) .
