Does anyone know of a method to use the Google Videos app on a rooted Xoom? Hulu Plus doesn't seem to work either and I believe it's for the same reason. Is there a way to hide the fact that you're rooted from apps?

Thanks.

The modified phone hulu+ app works on rooted/custom rom xoom.

And the new tablet hulu+ isn't not working because of root; there are plenty of people running stock that also cannot get it to work.

I have the hulu plus app working stock rooted. I just get the DRM error with EOS and Bugless beast custom ROMs. CubanLuke88, the modified apk for hulu isn't updated to the newest more tablet friendly hulu app so its kind of a turn off. I hope it is updated soon because I can't stay on stock ICS just for the hulu tablet friendly version of the app.

EDIT: I take it back. Huluplus is not working on my stock rooted Xoom. I no longer get the DRM error but I still can't stream any shows. I get an error that streaming is unavailable when I click on a video. Ugh. At least I have no need to stay stock now though.

Thanks for the replies. How about the Google Videos app? I know there's an apk that works for rooted phones but I can't install it on my Xoom. Is there a way to get around the root permissions restriction for the Videos app?

There is an app called "SuperSU" on the market.
It will allow you to hide/disable root in order to use your apps that you can't when rooted.

After you install it, disable root and use Google movies to your hearts desire.

No need to install a modified APK.

When you need root again, it's just one click to re-enable.
That easy.

Feel free to hit the thanks button.

Just confirmed this works. Wifi Xoom with Eos 89 on it.

I just read this thread and grabbed the pro SuperSU version. I get the feeling going forward we will have to hide root more often.
