If you follow the tutorial for rooting your device you will not loose any access to your apps and if you follow this tutorial for enabling 5G nothing will go wrong.

Thanks for the guid really helpful ..please i have an issue ..only one 5G band is working and the others are not ...i am getting only band 258 but band 78 is not working ...i have oneplus8 and i can see band 78 on the same location ...any idea ?

That's weird. I have the international Pixel 5 (sub-6 only) and I have band 78 working to connect to my carrier's 5G network. I don't have the mmwave version Pixel 5 so I can't help you there, sorry.

I'm not sure about esims. If you're using physical sim as default data then it should work.

I'm still on android 11 so not sure yet. I'm gonna stay on android 11 until all the major bugs are ironed out.

Yes. You can also insert a different physical sim card and that will reset the carrier_policy.xml as well.

I can confirm it works on both SIMs, physical and eSim. But, in order to get it working on the second (eSIM), another xml file must be edited in the same way as described in OP

file for second SIM is carrier_polixy.xml_Subscription01

Wow, the video is so well done. Is there a guide like this to activate VoLTE and VoWi-Fi for Pixel 4? I have tried every guide/magisk module with no success for my Pixel 4.

Hello all!

Just checked that after flashing factory image with January '22 update, (data kept; removed de -w flag on fastboot command) both carrier_policy.xml files loose this configuration. That said, if you update this way, there is an extra step to take into account.
