OK so usually I follow the forum for whatever device I'm about to get a few weeks ahead of actually when I expect to get it.
Well I got lucky and got contacted by my Samsung rep and got in the advocacy program. My question is, what is the best route to go about rooting? I don't want to trip any Knox flags that's for sure. So just getting root would suffice for me, but I would like to be able to run a custom rom. I assume this isn't possible without tripping the flag? Luckily I ended up having the mdk version s4. I got the note 3 with mi9 so what's the best route? Thanks.

Update to MJ7 then root with Kingo program then install safe strap recovery on it. make a nanadroid and rom slot then you have root and recovery without tripping knoxs.

The MI9 and MJ7 builds are really close and at this point all the development is on MJ7. I dont think I have ever told anyone that either LOL
Is the best method still root with Kingo then install Safestrap 3.65 & then install Chainfire SuperSU?

This is on build MJ7. Just making sure everything I've read is accurate. Thanks in advance

where are the files

Not sure if this has been said yet, because i have not been able to find it, but where are the files needed to root the phone. I just got my note 3 and still have it on mi9. When going to the forum of the root de la vega I click on the link to download the files and there is nothing there. I also tried clicking on your link under your youtube video and nothing there either. Any help would be appreciated. Since I am still on mi9 I would rather do it this way then using the kingo root. Thank you very much I appreicate it.

Thank you very much. Ya kingo is workign fine for me. When I do go try and do it the way that is mentioned in the op there is no files to download when you click on the link on the root de la vega page. It just says that the page is unavailable. Just wondering about that. Other then that thank you so much.

Wow. That was an easy root. Thanks for the video man. Didn't have any issues, went thorough first shot.
Do you have any videos on safestrap using stock slot for beans rom?

First time ever using that type of recovery

NO I strongly recommend not flashing stock rom slot. it is your safety inless you are ready to odin flash your device when you mess it up. I would us it. that being said you can flash it the same way you flash a rom slot and but you dont have to create a slot.

In that case I have a few questions regarding that.

Not flashing in the stock rom slot gives you an inaccurate reading on your internal memory right? If that's the case, is there a way to keep the stock rom slot, and flash beans in a virtual slot (the right term?) and have your internal memory display correctly?

Also... How does the nandroid backup work on this recovery? If I just make a nandroid of stock rooted, which rom slot would that go into?

Finally, what is the proper way to set the partition for some one like me who will always clean flash only Beans.

Thanks

not sure about the internal memory problem. But the nandroids work this way. if you make a nandroid of stock rom then it can be restored to any slot stock or virtual as you put it. But a nandroid of a virtual slot can only be restored to the same or another virtual slot. if you are only planning on having beans rom on the device then just set the data partition as big as you can and leave the others set to default. hope this helps

Regarding the memory, if you into system /storage is shows an inaccurate reading on available memory if you flash any rom not in the stock slot. It's been shown several times in the beans thread.
If you go into a file Explorer, it shows correctly.

Now far as setting the data and system partition. What does each represent? And yes, I'd like to max it out as if this was a regular recovery and treat it like that. I'll flash the same rom clean on every update. Don't care about dual booting different roms.
