Once again, I had success with the OP zip + build.prop zip + Viper in compatibility mode. No aux jack issues and it still sounds great.

The Viper zip from the 3 zips replaces a lot of files and one of the config files removes lines of code for aux cable and USB audio.

headphone jack issue.

Same battery issue. My headphone jack doesn't get detected anymore. I don't think the nexus 5 drivers work per some a few pages back.
I also had that issue with the headphone jack. Check the Lock Effect Mode and make sure it is disabled. Then V4A will choose the correct jack automatically. Previously it was disabled as the default choice. Now I notice that headphone is selected as default. Hope this helps!

Thanks!. I had problems with volume suddenly getting low too. I scrapped the build prop changes from nexus 5 thread went with regular version with some tinkering. I don't remeber all I did During this, but i was satisfied the headphone jack just started working during this. Now I know why ?.

I downloaded the updated apk, replaced it in the zip file and flashed. Set selinux to permissive and disable Nuplayer. Super High Audio driver in normal mode and it sounds great! Thanks, a lot. Running AOSPA 5.0
Followed these instructions right here, no more compatibility mode to get it to work.

From reading the last few pages it seems there still isn't a consistent way to get viper to work? It's been a while since I tried it.

What is the most success? The apk file in OP or the 3 zip files from the other thread linked to in here? Are there any other methods? Updated from the old ways?

The 3 zips are a sure - fire method but I explored some of the code and some stuff is missing. If you use aux at all, it'll be broken with the 3 zips.

Flash OP, disable nuplayer, run in compatibility mode works while retaining all functions but not sure if it's consistent.

Anyone here have any suggestions for getting this to work. Im super frustrated at this point. Downloaded new version, picked .apk for 4.0+, installed it and then opened, updated drivers /Reboot and then NOTHING.

I have a rooted N6, Anyone else have the same set up and can explain how they got it working?

Have you set your kernel to permissive?
Thats a very important step for it to work.

Weird beeps here too. For a short period like 1/10th of a second until half a second the sound stops and a short beep is heard. When listening to music it becomes clear that the sound is delayed because songs loose their rhythm while beeping.

Nexus 6 with latest Chroma ROM here. SELinux is permissive, NuPlayer is disabled.

I tried different combinations of "NuPlayer", "Compatible Mode", "Force Enable V4A"... Either "Driver Status" shows "Processing:no" or if it works I don't get any "Driver Status" popup at all, I can hear differences when changing EQ-settings and the beeps are there.
